Ive got the forms. I'm going to try to get a UCSB DH club going.
I think we should shy away from the term "longboarding" because I don't want 300 bros and their brothers joining just because they have a sector 9 and think they're "core" for holding it under one arm around campus with sandals on.
I'll be wanting to skate as soon as I get back there this weekend. Once I get settled in I'll take a look at how complicated it is to start a club.
Dave, we gotta hit san marcos rd when I get back. I know sean is gonna want to get some of that. Maybe he'll show up in this thread.
Dude, I went and drove San Marcos Rd when I was still down there and just driving it I almost #### myself. That road is sketch! Unless you had mad spotters it is anyway. Major props to you for having mad balls.

haha, thats what everyone says. Its not that bad once you're on it. All the turns are so tight that its actually not overly fast when you're drifting every other turn.

My friend has a picture of me eating #### on a toeside manual slide around that exact bend. It's a perfect straightaway right into a super banked 180, my favorite part. (Sick picture by the way) I've never DH'd the road, i've only used it for sliding, but as long as there are a couple spotters and it's the right time of day, you'll have one of the best rides of your life. I can't wait to get back on it...
The only sketch part is traffic so you gotta be careful and stay in your lane (er...side, theres not really lanes ). The cars ive encountered have been generally well behaved for the most part since its a popular motorcycle road.
Sessioning that 180 left to 180 right is so much fun with a spotter. I put down so much urethane on those two turns last year.

haha, i have yet to hit the double 180. I drove past it once but i decided to pass and start right after it. I don't have a DH board or gear but i have a slide board, some gloves and the love of speed, we need to get a good group going next year. A couple photographer spotters and we're good to go.
if only there was some way we could get the road closed for a race/slide comp...

man, im pretty jealous of you guys down there at UCSB. im tryin to get a small DH club (albeit unofficial) goin here at Cal Poly SLO, wat do you guys think of gettin (maybe) some small outlaws together or at the very least maybe some sessions one of these weekends eh?
