I didn't have a good day. If someone posted a picture of the miniglider, it would make tomorrow better.

Your pushy man. Push this. It's a shape proto, but production is snappy composite Plasteck with a thin core. Fun, light, and pop for days. I guarantee you will be able to ollie over streets, and rodeo flips on transition. It's an all or nothing deck. Oh, and what the hell is that other thing?

Also, the weather there is extremely unpredictable so you might not be skating very long before you have to pick up your board to avoid mud puddles and taxis.
That being said, taiwan is fun not to mention there is great food. I do wonder if there is a longboard market there though...
I was in Taiwan and Taipei last year too (gnartastic place), and I skated around Taipei all day one day on my super flexy Vanguard with SpeedVents on it; still though, pretty sketchy. I also skated up in the mountains, above the clouds, near Toroko (sp?) National Park. Sick beautiful...

I am totally sold on Earthwing after receiving my Thruster. It's going to be hard deciding between this and a regular Superglider. I'm guessing a 21-23" wheelbase? Ok, ok.. Miniglider it is.
Speaking of my Thruster...

No risers! Super low. I'm just now getting comfortable pulling out long powerslides on 90a wheels. Just the other day I radiused the inside lip, so some of that slowness-inducing character of wide hard wheels is gone. The bushings are doing a pretty good job of keeping the bite away. They're 81a barrel Karrot Reflex on the bottom, and short black bitch tops. I've got some black Hardcores on the way, but for now this feel really powerful, stable, very aggressive inducing and very appropriate. Appropriate as in it isn't crazy carvy but it's super reboundy if you weigh deep and pump hard. The rebound is also JUST enough to keep me from biting the wheel if I miss the bolts in an ollie and hit the rail when I stomp, which happens to me alot since I'm trying to learn.
I mostly got this because I really wanted to take my skating in a vertical direction (learning to ollie over stuff) and trim down my equipment. As I said before I never could get much fun out of a popsicle deck as much as I tried... So I was just slightly unsure of how much fun I could siphon out of a Thruster. I've been blown away. Apparently +2.5 inches in wheelbase can make all the difference in the world.
By the way, what should I seal the bare welled-out wood with?

Kaohsiung ! There may be scooters but bikes are thick. It was before my skating days but I couldn't imagine trying to skate around the city. Country side would be excellent. I just wanna eat all them local groceries and pound the rice beer, I do.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
i just got my widerglider complete in the mail today. i've had my eye on this board since brian was first mentioned in the short blurp in concrete wave a long while back. to be honest with you guys, i assumed this board was to be all hype. i was just expecting something that would be average, and not be blown away, due to the hype beast.
thankfully, i was wrong. in my 8 years i've been boarding i've owned close to 100 setups, just trying to dial down exactly what i would want with what components. the widerglider is hands down one of the most comfortable boards i've been on. the flex is perfect, wheel wells are right on spot for how i ride, and the indy 215's are a perfect match to the 66 gravity burners. this is going to be one of my main rides for a long time to come.
on another note, has anyone shortened the nose a bit on their thruster to make it less intimidating to use?

near zhongxiao fushing station.
yeah, I would've gotten killed by those mopeds haha.
I didn't bring my skateboards there because the roads were kind of crappy (from previous experiences), and the traffic.

^Now this, is something I want! approximate price?
