I dont think they'd be slick enough as pucks (compared to delrin/halar)

They're faster than UHMW and cheaper than Delrin. I've slid while holding a flatspotted slide a and it felt nice and slick....

Im sorry mah man. But i got to disagree and agree at same time. Slide a's for pucks is not the best idea. But halar and delrin sucks ball compared to UHMWPE.

I tried both delrin and halar and they get cheeeeeeeeeez crated in tech sliding.

Get ur ass back in U.S. enough ####!ng parting, getting to cool or something?

Sorry for the non-EW related post, but I saw another member post this elsewhere and wanted to help spread the word:

If skating NYC this weekend please keep eyes open for LOST DOG

If anybody over there in NYC happens to spot this dog, see if you can do anything to help the owner out!

Delrin doesn't last long enough and does get cheez grated you are right. But halar...no freaking way man, no freaking way. It's denser than uhmw and waaay harder to kill, only problem is that its waay too expensive and thin.

Darkspeed ftw but halar is right up there.

As for the partying I wanna get the **** out of the netherlands already but I have this thing called classes.

Delrin, cheese grated? Really? I've been using only Delrin for the past year, I haven't cheese grated anything. If anything, it's harder and denser than UHMWPE and doesn't chunk as bad when you hit pebbles and cracks in the road.

Delrin pucks, 7 months old. No cheese grating. Only fast smooth slides.

p.s I spent a few moths using a few different materials and passing them out to peoples for sh!ts and giggles. I can tell you without a doubt UHMWPE was not the most favored material for tech sliding, just speedboarding.

Delrin is considerably harder (and denser) than UMHW-PE. Don't remember the numbers exactly but it's about a 20-30 point difference on the shore D scale

I actually think there is come correlation between puck hardness, pavement roughness, and slide speed. In some sense it is much like soft wheels vs hard wheels

I had a big reply going based on my experiences from sliding different materials on various grades of surfaces.... but I'm going to post it elsewhere. Don't want to clutter this thread with what could be misconstrued as a plug for my company

It all depends on your riding style, the roads you are on, how much pressure you put on the puck. My gravity delrin pucks wore down to a few mm in a month (the white were even worse...3 sessions) so I just stuck em on my knee pads. For tech sliding I like darkspeed or halar and for dh I like...darkspeed or halar...really its super subjective, some people care less and some people care more.

P.S some of those pucks look like the tactis pucks I sent out for the N.C outlaw? or maybe they just look similar.

    Teh cheesy effect

I'd like a nice pile of grated cheddar cheese right now to appease my angst and sorrow at being laid up unable to skate. Especially considering my Boomerang showed up today.

Ok soooo I just realized where this whole thing got confusing. As Serg said it depends on conditions. I used delrin only as a nose/tail puck. I have used halar as both palm and tail/nose. On both I got that effect when puck gets whiped off with all that stuff haging off.

Im not trying to diss anything im just stating my experience with pucks.

    P.S.
The stuff that i used is from gravity fingerless slide gloves and I got halar from Serg.

Darkspeed pucks are soooooooooooo smooth. I've had my set for over a year (hadn't been on slopes the whole time). It's about time for another.

so today i was riding my super glider and i failed doing a kickflip and my board landed upside down and fml you know what happens? a car cones and runs the tail right over, so my first impressions were "oh #### my board!!" but after picking it back up and examining it all the wood plys were cracked but the skins held the thing together through out the rest of the sesh but once again doing a few ollies the tail just went limp so i decided to cut the tail, not complaining at all here animal makes amazing boards and for a board to get run over and then still be ridable deserves some respect to the maker in my book

Andriy, I ride DelrinAF (delrin+teflon) pucks and you've seen how those have held up to my sliding. But UHMW/UHMWPE rocks for downhill

camber sucks, it puts you higher off the ground, feels weird at speed and if you have flat feet like me it just irritates them. rocker is the love of my life/cool/great for pushing but overall i think it makes decks a bit weaker. dunno.

I don't see how it would make decks weaker, I think Comet's poor structural reputation is way over-hyped/not related at all to rocker.
