Hey guys. I'm shopping around for a superglider and i noticed the $50 factory second decks on the EW site. It's such a good deal that I wanted to check whether the flaws were purely cosmetic, or if there was some other defect. Too good to be true or the best deal ever? I'm dying to find out. Thanks!

just like the mystery model factory blems, they should just be cosmetic. Brian wouldn't sell something that is not structurally sound, i don't think. Not his m.o.

Incredible ride. It's a perfect long skateboard. Makes me wish I would of ordered an MM to go along with it. The concave on the Chargers have always been one of the best fits for me, now with the wider board it's even better.
I'm waiting on some trucks, so for now I'm sportin' Crail Team Mustard trucks on it with some soft barrels, Divine 70mm wheels. It will eventually wind up with some Surprise! conventional trucks that should allow me to still go pretty fast. It's pretty much going to be used on all the same runs I take my Asym on now.
hahahahahaha you too?!
i managed to grab one as well and omg. it is perfect. im running it on 1/8 risers, plasma wheels and paris trucks.
no lie this deck can do it all. slight dampening flex. perfect width. im running it for store runs, mild dh runs and pretty much everything else.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
I feel like this has probably been answered already, but I couldn't seem to find it...
What are the differences between the Superglider and Supercharger other than the width and length? Is the concave the same? Same flex? Which would you choose between the two and why?
Also, how is the concave on both of them?

If business was as simple as "make more boards" then there would be a ton of millionaires in the skate industry.
True true. Look at Toyota. Every company eventually faces the decision of growth vs. control. The bigger you get, the more people need to be involved, the less control you have over variables of production, the additional people touching your product eventually lead to minor mistakes and attention to detail being left at the door. Not to saw EW is even at this point but what is sooo wrong with their boutique model production and distribution. If EW only makes X amount of boards a run, and there are 1.5X or 2X people who want these boards, then EW is always selling out their runs, the products are being kept at a manageable production level, and the riders who are lucky enough to secure a board are happy with the quality and price.
Owning an EW is a privilege not a right. I say let them run their production at whatever level they can handle while still making boards of the same quality. Keep the runs small and keep your customers addicted to a harder to get product. Many companies thrive on these types of models (Ferrari, Lambo, Hermes, Louis Vitton... etc.) And yes, I am comparing EW decks to high line luxury items
your mom longboards.

Ok so the Supermodel is now my next board because of it's price and quality!
I'm like, 215ish pounds. Should I stick with the 8-ply or get the 9-ply?
What are you guys setting yours up with?

I would do the 9, but the 8 would be fun, just not so race worthy. It has such a pronounced concave, it is stiffer than most decks + plus the glue/resin we use between plies is much more structural than whatever it is most companies use, so that makes it feel solid.

Well I'm not exactly going to be racing or anything, but this board is just calling me...telling me that it should be my first Downhill board.
I love the flex of the glider though. flex is awesome. So I think I'll stick with the 8 ply because a little bit of bounce would be fun.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
I think I remember hearing about some small (I think like 55mm-60mm) purethane wheels?
I was planning to get some softer wheels on my Drifter to cruise and thrash around, kind of inspired by that video of Max Dubler getting coffee or whatever.
Is there any kind of release date or news about them, or should I just get some Noskools or something?

I have been selling thousands of those for years in NYC....they went purethane last year. They could win maryhill, seriously. they slide well too.
