I basically learned to skate on a 10" wide Sims Lester "Splat" deck back in 1983. So riding a 10 incher feels like home to me. I would love to see a 10" slide deck with sidecuts for sexiness - basically an old school pig with a double-kick. the whole issue about losing torsional strength with sidecuts is much less relevant when you are talking about a 10" board. i can't see how sidecuts would adversely affect any style of skating, park or otherwise. someone please explain that to me if you have the knowledge.

I've been dreaming of a shorter superglider with a fatter, ollie-able tail for sometime. that would be the bee's knee's city traffic sprinter, cruiser, garage bomber, and old school street thrasher. on a related note, i'm about to drop my regular glider like Acer87 did. been thinking that would be a good idea for awhile, and now that i hear it works, i'm all over it.

And that thruster surfboard looking thing that brian has filed under "party decks" is amazing to ride. That board actually "surfs" off the tail, is ollieable, and is crazy fun to stand up slide and slash around. it's the closest thing to shortboard style surfing i've ever encountered on a skateboard. that board is brilliance on 4 wheels. anybody else love that thing as much as me?

The party deck is crazy. It shouldn't be; but it's totally ollie-able. Nose manuals are sort of scary; but awesome.

Brilliance, yes. Hands down, probably the most fun you can have on a skateboard. That thing is an inspiration... we need to see it mass produced.

I would buy one just because of it's sick shape. Earthwing is such a cool company.

Ok, the thruster has to happen, I have been so involved with the speedboard. I will get to work on it, there are some things that need to be tweaked. It's the most fun you can have on 4 wheels with your clothes on.

So, it might of been me that blew the other thread up.

But I was wondering about the Wheels, What was the shape before the lips were chopped off? Even in a high quality urethane it wont be super grippy with lips like those. Granted they look like a sick freeride wheel, due to the ease of drift and still way more grip than a Krypto or something of the sort.. Just Curious to why you wouldn't keep some untrimmed for the market that wants GRIP , seems to rule it out as a race wheel for DH or a slalom crowd this wheel might have tapped into .

It had a much sharper lip before, and what happens is that it will actually fold under itself in a high speed drift causing it to wash out. And It is hella grippy, almost too grippy, and needed a better edge. Also when you have one in hand the cut on the lip has a concave to it. It's not a straight 35 degree cut. I will take some photos to show you what I mean, but trust me, the grip is bananas.

also regarding a 10" wide slide deck: a 10" wide executioner would be insane. same shape, same concave just plain fat!

I guess I do not need to reiterate the great remarks towards the Thruster or Party Board or whatever you want to call it, but yeah....it's great. I am so picky with carving/fun boards and this is one of the few that I super super super duper love. It's totally different from the gliders/chargers but is just as amazing.

In detail, I would be satisfied in saying it's the most similar experience to surfing. You can rip the tail toe and heel so easily and it still grips fine. If you do, however, want to slide out a bit, it is possible, and the drift is fun. Get ready to ride the waves without the wetsuit and water.

    Short: Favorite carving board evar.

What trucks would you recommend on the party board and what are the specs on it? I'll definately be picking one up if it is produced.

Some narrow-ish Indy's or Trackers are good... 101's would be superrad mcsurfy, I think Brian rocks 129s. 149s would feel a bit more stable. I want to try some of those new Ace trucks, the party deck would be fun to slap 'em on.

How long is that board? Ace 00s with some soft bones hardcore bushings seems like it would be fun on that board.

Indy 129s or 139s with baby-balls (56 mm EWs). That's an awesome setup. Strong enough to handle ok speeds. Carves like a longboard. Ollies like a street deck. I love mine!
[Sherpa-a-go-go] 3:08 am: this has turned gayer than a slalom event
[pirateswin] 3:09 am: what's gay about a bunch of grown men pumping?

i would have scored higher but i was afraid of falling on my Iphone
