Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
Kadena! The skating on base is sick! I seriously plan to park at the gate and ride to work everyday. Almost entirely down hill the way there. And by the time I'm done pushing back to my car at the end of the day, the traffic will all be gone.

heads up, venom bushings dont fit on the stock indy kingpin. You will probly have to get a new kingpin or buy bones hardcore bushings.

not exactly....you can run Venom barrels on the bottom but you will need Bone Hardcore cones for the top on Indy's....funny thing it you can run a standard Venom pack on Ace trucks because the stock kingpin is just fractionally longer than an Indy's

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
They don't fit on indys or ace. On stage 9 indys, I tried the barrel bottom bones top and its way too tight to be considered fitting. This bones top/ venom bottom setup will fit on aces though. You will need a longer kingpin to run venoms top and bottom on either of these trucks. And even then they are taller than the bushing you are taking out so the hangar will be angled up alittle.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
I am running venom/ bones on 2 boards with indy's.

Its possible, but hardly a proper fit.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
I have Venoms (both barrels and elims) on indys, with khiro conical tops (one insert, one regular). they fit real nice, no compression.
And to fit into this thread: I has a 34.5" drifter and new slide-a's coming! Watch out Faltown crew, I'm comin to show you the Earthwing styleeeyyy!

Why because you say so? Why don't you make sure you are using the smaller bones bushing and then report back.

Indy Stage X, Venom barrel and Bones top cone. This is a really loose setup for me

Ace55 Venom barrel and Bones bottom cone not as loose as the setup above the extra thane in the bones bottom is plush butI got wheelbite on Aces

Because its a fact. Its impossible with the taller bushing. Watch the pivot pull up when you are forcing the bushings down to get the nut on. Or watch the hangar not sit properly on the bottom bushing before you do so.
I can't even get that setup on one of my indys because the kingpin is a hair shorter on one truck. Maybe because of more metal on the seat, but thats how little it takes to not get them on at all.

I can sit here and post pics of an indy put together with a venom and a bones too. I can also post pics of there being little to no threads showing and having to force it together. I don't have stage 10s so perhaps there is more kingpin to work with. Or thats a tight fit as well. I'm not even talking about tight trucks.
Bones bottoms are shorter than venoms. You said you could fit venoms top and bottom.
I said above that you can fit that setup on aces. It fits better with the bones top as the top.
Things work better when they fit properly.

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
My point is that it's perfect fit (no need to tighten past snug)...especially at my weight of 220lbs now for someone lighter they would likely need softer bushings but still it works with Stage X, I don't have any Stage IX's everything else I have is Stage VIII or earlier so I can't speak for them. But the set up I showed is really loose....I slappy curbs pretty regularly so I have to have them loose
on Topic with Earthwing....I skated my Supercharger out to the beach and back today (10miles) had a blast just cruising/carving along, working on my regular and mongo pushing. Did some dancing in the empty parking lot, funny I had a number of surfers ask me about my board, before I skated home.....

Re: The Earthwing Skateboard Army
I'm talking about fitting vs forcing, not loose trucks vs tight.
I tried this bones/venom setup on my stage 7s and there is no forcing to get it together. The bottom bushing is still too tall, but it fits together smoothly. The stage 10s could be the same, I don't have any to try. So this could be the difference we are experiencing.
I just don't want this guy to be bummed when his stuff arrives and it doesn't fit. If he's getting stage 10s, and they fit as well as you say they do, then he's in better shape than if he were getting stage 9s.
Bottom line, he either needs to get bones bushings, or longer kingpins and some jb weld.
Or if you're feeling confident, you could shave the venoms down and they would fit perfect and would be the cheapest solution.
