Halifax Riders

Im moving back to Halifax in a few weeks for the winter. Hope to get out lots before the snow and ice sets in. It'd be wicked to get out with a few people for a good ride! I've been boarding for a year or so now. Haha, so yeah, if your in the city, lets get in touch, or better yet, is there a maritime forum/ seperate site run by maritimers?

Oh and is there anywhere to buy trucks, stems, slide pucks etc in NS or no? Last time I seen PRO (a few years now) it was pretty barren of Longboard gear...

Pro doesn't really carry long board gear, just a small selection of wheels really. When will you be back here?

Im going to stock up abit (paycheque allowing) before I leave Edmonton.

Hey guys, I hope to be in Hali next weekend (crosses fingers) im in Truro atm. Anyways, if you guys wanted to try point pleasent i'd be down for that and i could give you a ride if needed castro. I ride a Kebbek Consignment with Bear 1052's and Gumballs/ Powerballs depending on the senerio! I've just got some orange pumpkins for stems. I can drift but slidding is still an experiment hahaha. (a Painful one at times :P ) So yeah, seasions comming to a close and im heading back to Edmonton on the 15th hopefully, going to get one good ride in for sure before I jet! Let me know what you think!

hey. i just started longboarding but i'm in hali. just putting that out their cause i'd love to ride with some people. none of my friends are into longboarding or skateboarding for that matter. also i know this place at exit five with sik hills :P

Someone should set up a small event or race in halifax this summer!! I would attend without a doubt!! and I will most likely make an outlaw race in Moncton, N-B this summer(I'm a loaded and otang rep.. so there will be prizes). Join the greater moncton longboarding facebook group for details. They will show up there and the members will receive the details on the way/trough events!

p.s, Someone else started the group, so don't mind the crappy pics and the uploaded vid. I took over the group recently! hahah, join and help spread the stoke.

Who would come down to attend the outlaw race, bbq, warf jumping (maybe), camping, beer... thoughts?

I would attend for sure. I usually skate with 3 or 4 people and I'm sure they would all like to do it too..

belliveau - i joined up with the facebook group and sent you a message. let me know if you want some help getting this off the ground. It would be nice to get the scene going in atlantic canada!

I am in halifax. I just hit up some bike shop on Barrington for a helmet because I was told all about the police's love for boards here.

yah the police here like to make you feel like a criminal for just pushing down the street to the corner store. I've been at the halifax commons when underage kids have been smoking joints and taking pills in the bowl and the coppers just walked around and ticketed skaters with no helmets...pretty f%&king lame.

we were stopped by the police last night on our way back from point pleasant, they told me and a buddy there is a bylaw against skating on the sidewalk as well as on the street. i asked where we were to ride and i was told "in designated areas such as the halifax commons".

Cops in HRM are bored and pathetic.

The weather looks awesome for the next few days..anyone wanna get a group ride together???

Hey just new to the fourm, I am down for riding around Hali when ever. Work 9-5 m-f but other than that I can ride whenever. I am itching to ride with a bigger crew, on bigger hills and new spots so get at me. Might be easier to add me on the old crack book.
