Original Skateboards in Canada
I'm looking to get an Apex 37 and was wondering if there is any store in Canada I can order it from? I know I can get it shipped from the states, but I would love to support a Canadian retailer if its possible. Anyone know?

I do not, but have been looking for the same thing, since I want to get a Derringer 28 or Manhattan 27 this summer. I'd love to skip the import fees and support a home-front business. If I do find anything out, I will post it right hurr.

Call Original and ask them if they've got any Canadian dealers. They'll know better than anybody.

Why are you reading my sig? It's boring.

Hey, I recently ordered a board from them about 3 months ago. Their service is impeccable especially if you deal with Scott.
There are no dealers in Canada, which is a bummer because you might get hit with that customs charge (which expect around 50 bucks). I lucked out when i ordered mine and didn't get hit.My g/f and friend on the other hand both got dinged. Best you can do is cross your fingers.
I am hoping they set up some sort of dealer in the near future.
Their delivery is about 2 weeks out here to the maritimes, and likely a little quicker to you folks in ontario.
I personally do not suggest going with the basic bearings on their boards, or basic wheels. I have their Cell swiss and am very happy with them, my friend went with the basics and they're not good at all (15 dollar bearings i bought for bad weather are better than the abec 3 they offer). The basic wheels are okay, but your board receives a huge performance boost with different wheels. I don't find the 70 mm kryptonics bad (on my path 37), on the other hand 65 mm kryptonics on the Malakai (standard) wasn't my favorite setup. Running 80a (lime) zigzags on both is a much better ride, obviously your experience will depend on your board. If you want to slide your board the kryptonics with their small footprint are very difficult to get sliding. If you want something that is going to hold on tight carves, and that is the main focus, the kryptonics are not a bad wheel, although i find the 65 mm a little small on footprint.
Take this with a grain of salt, as I have only been riding 3 months. I ride mainly the Path, ride the Malakai a little, and have been on the Torpedo a little bit.
I love my original board, and my friend and g/f are both really into theirs. These are our first boards, but it is likely that my next board will also be an original.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
Hey Scott,
Good to see you floating around here,
You can get hit with tariffs when it goes through the boarder even from you guys, and sometimes you don't. It is hit and miss.
When i got my board, they delivered it and it was fine. Both of my friends who got boards were hit between 50-60 bucks. (that is about 20-25% of value) That is how it goes. It is a hit or miss deal, generally more of a hit (on the wallet). It is based on the value that you guys put on the outside of the box, you have to declare what it is worth, or if something goes wrong you're in trouble! Please keep shipping USPS, because those of us with experience of UPS across the boarder cringe.
I also learned that not all white lithium grease is equa.. I'm not sure about in the states, but the first stuff i got was gunking so quickly i was constantly ripping the trucks apart. The latest stuff went on much better and feels better.
The good stuff went by the name of ultra slick. The bad stuff by the name of Lith-Ease.
I'll be crossing my fingers that at some point I won't have to get it shipped across the boarder anymore, because I know in 8 months I'll want to try something new.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
Just called them, the lady said new new boards would be in next week...but thats what I've been told since the second week of march. What is the hold up over there Scott? The sun is shining, the roads have been swept, and I'm just itching to hop on a brand spanking new apex 37!

Lol, you crack me up. I know a few ppl who have been trying to get their hands on the beautiful apex 37. They're not happy with the next week response.. every week. They'd rather hear in 3 months, because monday rolls around and they are hoping it will be this week.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
Just to add, Canada's Premier Online Longboard Retailer - Switchback Longboards stocks the Original trucks, all three sizes. Nothing else but at least the trucks for anyone looking. I ended up just order S8s from them along with the rest of a complete setup instead of worrying about the cross boarding shipping. An option for others.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
yeah i want to buy the derringer, and $150 (or $157 for S8 trucks) is pretty cheap. i rode my friend's path and i must say, it was heaven. i thought my board was good, but original does a fine job in their trucks and boards. the derringer with my 85mm speedvents would go very well together, but same with everyone else, i'd prefer to buy it from a canadian reseller. and yes, getting dinged from over the border shopping sucks.
on another note, are there any original resellers in burlington or new york?

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
couple notes.. if you are not already aware, if you are going with the 85 mm wheels you have to have at least s8's. s8's won't really sacrifice that much turning and don't cost much more; so why not..
To date I don't know anyone who sells these boards in canada, at least shipping might still be free to canada *crosses his fingers* or really discounted
I've had myself and 3 friends all have boards shipped from them and they always came in fine. They do a pretty darn good job of packaging so someone would really have to toss it around to hurt it.
Some of the trucks game not as polished as they should be.. rough on the inside.. that was not cool
only problem with shipping is 1 friend ordered a complete, extra wave cams, a shirt, white springs. First he got the complete.. so he called them and they screwed up.. said they were shipping the other 3 items out immediately. Then he got his shirt. Now he is waiting for his cams and springs... lol. They seem to be slightly chaotic and busy there... and it continues to reflect on their service.

Ya it sucks we don't have any dealers here. I just placed my order this weekend for the apex 34. I'm so stoked, it just sucks that I have to wait.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
Switchback carries some completes now
Original ? Longboard Skateboards | Landyachtz, Sector Nine, Kebbek, Earthwing, Loaded, Rayne, G&S, Seismic, Rainskates, Retro, Gravity, Pink, Bear, Bennett
They are out in B.C. and I bought a complete setup from them last year (including the S8's but a non-original board) and I dealt with Aaron and he was super helpful with everything.

Re: Original Skateboards in Canada
Got mine a week ago, just took it for a proper rip this weekend... ####### AWESOME!!!! I'm fully stoked on this board. So slidey, so surfy, so turny. All I can say is if your looking for something different, something with a lil more personality grab yourself an Original.
I got the Apex 34 on S8's with 70 Retro Zig Zags, the small footspace worried me right outta the box, but once i got out on it, it couldnt matter less(Im 5'11 btw). I could go on and on but all it boils down to is GO BUY ONE! or for that matter two or three...
