Hey, I'm new as well to this very fun activity. My buddy has been longboarding since last summer and he let me use the board once and i'm hooked. ( Yeah and that buddy would be Rahb. Sup dude)
I just bought a Sector 9 Bomb Hills, not Countries board and am having alot of fun with it. Anyways we are usually found on sunny days are nicer evening in the Portland Street/Colby Village/Cole Harbour areas. I see a few others out on these street carvers but never seem to run into anyone when we are out on the side streets.
Did my first bombing run on Topsail the other night and it didn't quite work out. Speed wobble sucks. Also lack of thinking I jumped off going way faster then i could run so end result skinned knees and a sore elbow. (Buying knee pads shortly). Thank god for a helmet. Eventually we are looking to bomb breakheart hill on Portland street near the bus terminal late night. The more the merrier.
Anyways keep your head up, watch out for cars, and beware the dreaded speed wobble.

Hey, I thought i'd leave a hit here. I'm across the pond in Halifax but i just started january and also got a couple of my friends into it. Always looking for more people to carve it out with, and maybe some new gear to give a spin. I may have to make the hop across, and of course the invitation for you guys to visit is always open.

Definitely a good thought on the elbow pads, knee pads and slide gloves probably. Looking into it as I faced the dreaded speed wobbles myself and took a whooping. (apparently i can't run faster than I bomb).

Remember kids, to keep the cops at bay always wear a brain basket, and strap it on right.. if you have to wear it, it might as well do its job.

im pretty much for getting out whenever possible, dont care where as long as its smooth. there are definatly some spots in the fax that need to be bombed, teach those ###### hills a lesson, haha. its hilly as #### in dartmouth, nice hills everywhere.

What style of boarding are you most into? it sounds like serious bombing.

I tend to cut up hills with the carvey goodness of the Original board. Getting into sliding though, soon as i make/get gear. Everyone can put a good shutdown slide to use

were are fairly new to the longboard so right now we basically cruise around/carve and bomb. looking into getting some harder wheels and practicing sliding.

Out all day today found a sweet run on a road call Astral which is nice for a cruise and carve kinda style. Definately a nice run for a novice like myself.
You should come out with us sometime over here. I'm from Sacktown and there are some nice roads out there but i don't have people to come out with me there so i'm always in dartmouth. Gaining a little more confidence.
Come play on this side of the water.
