what: the first annual ontario grip contest. categories for artists from usher to escher.
who: you! all of you! no skill required, a category for everybody!
when: contest ends saturday april 25, 1.00pm, meet at roarockit and get sociable. judging starts at 2.00pm.
where: roarockit (see below for maps, transit directions etc)
why: spring season is the perfect time to regrip a board or three. make it funky, make a statement, make it your own.

categories
open: the big poobah. go nuts. multiple colours, wrecked scissors, lack of fingerprints. judged on pure stun factor and ride-ability.
geometric: get out your rulers, exacto blades and a grade 9 math textbook. judged on line accuracy, spacing, complexity and coverage.
tesselate: slide, flip and rotate! a single shape, repeated many times. judged on repetition accuracy, complexity and coverage.
portrait: got someone who's face is so dear to you you just have to step on it? bring a picture of them! judged on image accuracy, complexity and coverage.
cartoon: saturday morning was never so inspirational. any illustrated character goes here. judged on accuracy, complexity and coverage.
nature: get your green on. take your board back to its roots. judged on accuracy, complexity and coverage.
honourable mentions will abound, and more categories will be added as requested or required. prizes galore.

the rules
- a contestant may enter a board for as many categories as it applies for, but it may only win in one
- a constestant may enter and showcase as many boards as desired, provided they were gripped after january 1, 2009
- a contestant may use only hand guided tools, no computer controlled cuts are allowed
- a contestant must perform all work on the board
- a contestant may win a prize without attending the contest, so long as the board itself is present. supply a small description and a pic of yourself with the board
