If you plan on staying at a hotel stay at the quality in in goldendale, its maybe a 15 minute drive to mary from there not sure where your driving from, and last i checked they recently made skating legal at marry just pick up after yourself and dont drive on it

There is a gate at the bottom of the hill, you can't drive on it.
Keep in mind that this road is on private property. Respect it as such.

Portland is the closest big airport although there is an airfield at Goldendale.
There is a state campground near the bottom of the hill, on the river. There are also a couple of hotels in Biggs across the river, and a little further away is Quality and Ponderosa in Goldendale.

If you are coming alone, I would recommend getting in touch with some of the guys from Portland. It isn't a good idea to ride a hill alone.

Keep in mind this hill also gets rented out to ranchers(Cattle graze on the hill) as well as other groups like car clubs.

    Hi,

About the fall freeride. I was reading another thread and nobody said when it is going to happen, because they did not want a lot of people going there? I am not to sure why. I would like to know when it is, if anybody would like to tell me. Also is it legal? and how do you get to the top?

The fall freeride is over. The event was limited to 100 riders or so, and sold out in 8 minutes.
At the legal freeride you got to the top in the uhaul.
IF you go any other time of year you get to the top my using your two feet.
Rumor has it this event might happen more often next year, and that there might be a more organized way to register. Keep your eyes open.

Also keep in mind the road/property can be rented out to other people(Car clubs, ranchers ect.)

    No.
The closest you can part to the top is over 2 miles away. There is a parking lot at the bottom of the road. I guess you could also park at the viewpoint (which is closer) but then you'd have to hike down the cliff, before hiking back up the road to the top.
