The IGSA has nothing to do with the entries or entry fees gathered for Maryhill. We are hired by Vocanic Promotions to run the actual race (timing, scoring, etc). John Ozman from Volcanic is the guy organizing the event. I'm sure he will make a list available of the registered racers in the near future.

Really?
If thats the case then how come I was able to compete in 2 regionals and 1 W-cup with no health insurance and put " N/A" in the spot where it says 'health insurance'?
Isnt that the purpose of the liability release form, 'riding at my own risk'?
Why not safer helmets? It defeats the purpose doesn't it? You know, leathers, gloves, any helmet you wanna strap to your dome, liability forms, health ins., etc.....

wow dude, quit complaining, if you really want to go you'll find a way, bitching about the rules now won't change anything.

I'll never understand americans...
If I was leaving in a country where I couldnt afford health insurance and where you pay tenth of thousands of dollars when you get really sick or break a bone... Well... I would not do downhill skateboarding racing and risk having debts for my entire life, ruining my family's life just coz I was stupid enough not to be insured doing a sport like we do...

Nah... I'd rather go there anytime I want and ride it for free...
Also, plane ticket + entry fees for a road that used to be 3 hours drive from my place...

Geez peeps. Get so defensive about a question. I'm not complaining or bitching, I'm not even going. I was only asking why and when? I'm allowed to ask why. I've read the rules, regulations. It doesn't say it's mandatory. If I was going then I guess I would have to get a month of coverage to do so if its going to be inforced. More expensives just to have fun.
Tough crowd for sure.
Sweet,
Since this nice 'American' economic downslide, massive lay-offs and what not. Saving the house has become priority #1. I know the risks I take are great but what is a guy to do, stop doing something I love because I can't afford insurance. Might as well take up golf or I know, Tennis! Yeah, that'll be the day.
Everyone cant have FREE health insurance like you do in the Great White North.
Would be nice tho.
Learn to fall and ride within your known limits is what I always say.
I dont believe for one moment that you would'nt do DH with no ins.
That is the biggest load of crap yet.
Stop trying to understand us "American's". You'll just keep scratching your head.
And as far as Maryhill goes..., Will somebody from California please step up and win this thing.

lol
But I still have in mind that it's not serious to do this kind of sport with no insurance... Do you have a wife? Kids?
What happen when you will have to choose between walking again and send them to school?
Not trying to moralize or anything... I just think that there are priorities in life and I would not ride in the US without an insurance.
And I'm not canadian
Healthcare system sucks really bad here too hahhaa (not as bad as in the states though lol)
I'm french
I dont know how much insurance cost every year for you... But save the 1000$ week to Maryhill, get inurance and ride in Cali instead, you have great roads (BETTER roads...)
