The Sports festival of Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, from the 11th to the 14th of June 2009, is an annual event
that attracts each year over 10 000 persons. I was approached by the organizers of the event to organize a longboard and streetluge competition that will be the main event of the festival.
The hill that the festival's organizers proposed is in the heart of the city and is one of the most extreme ever done in competition.
The course is on an 18% grade slope and the contestants will reach speeds of 100 km/h before doing controlled slides turns in a 90 degrees left corner. This competition is sure to get the sport on a new level.
The race is the principal event of the festival and will get a lot of media coverage(radio, television & internet).
To attract the finest riders in the world, a substantial cash purse is up for grabs.

Wow, you guys are coming from NJ, Nothern Virgina, Raleigh, Brooklyn, Vermont, Massachusset and even farther: you are crazy
I wasn't too sure about going, but now when I look at how much you are going to travel to get there... it made me grew up some balls
I'll be coming with GabMG in sliding and probably DH in I get my board on time
You guys are INSANE !!!
I might go if I don't have a job and can carpool... Room for a luge anyone?
I'll see if Hayden's available... It's a long haul up there though, made a shorter trip last year and it was hell on gas. We'll see

PS: I would like to say thanks also for keeping the price damn cheap and showing other race organizers that an event does not have to cost 300$... 40$ is FREAKING cheap!
And also, I wanted to know: Is it gonna be a 1 day freeride + qualification and 1 day race or is it gonna be some kind of other format?
