Its really awesome. Mostly mellow hills, but some parts are windy, and some parts have steeper drops. If you take advantage of those steeper parts, you should be able to maintain decent speed for the whole 2.5mi.

not to be a douche, if this is an outlaw, please don't make set up tents and all that.
outlaw's are supposed to be discrete.

Its in the back woods. I've been there a ton of times, and nobody is every there other than hikers in the woods. I've only ever seen a total of maybe 10 cars at the top of the hill. Also, I have been in contact with the local government. Hopefully we will have it shut down.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
Wait are you guys for sure doing this on august 8th? I totally posted a race earlier today for that weekend out at my house. It's going to be a night race and barbeque, we should try and figure out when we can have both of these events so that everyone can go to both. I suppose I could move it to the weekend after...Also you guys should try and take down any info regarding this and do it so that Helen won't try and #### it over.
And is that a Ceviche but with a different tail? It looks exactly the same. And is that a carbon drop through board?

Yah its the weekend of the eighth. And you should move it to sometime a little later than the weekend after to give some recoop time, and time for some people who need it to work that extra overtime day rather than taking off two weeks in a row. Lastly, that is not a ceviche. It is similar, but thats it.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
or we could race in St. College early Saturday afternoon and then caravan to VA and do the night race.
I'm guessing about a 3+ hour jaunt.............and we could even race to VA in our cars!!

i'm down for both the same weekend

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
We could do it same weekend like that if enough people are willing to be ballsy like that. It is a three hour drive between State College and Winchester, I was up there last week for a gig. And if we decide on not the same weekend then I will make it the weekend after. I understand it's hard for people to take off work and all but I know the people who are passionate about it will be there. I'm coming off six weeks of skate travel now and it was all totally worth it even if my car is ####ed and I have hardly any money to my name. Also is there a faster hill you guys could hold this on? It's weak that most of our outlaws have had little to no turns and are under 40. #### even my event is hardly over 40 and you don't have to put a hand down if you know what you're doing. Sorry for just coming off as a dick for two posts in a row but I really just want to see some progression. It's been half a year of great events put on by great people but the venues have been so far below the talent level and the real riding happens when we go freeride elsewhere before and after the events.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
i think it would work well on the same weekend. plus would save me from having to worry about taking another weekend away. like dean said if you do the pa event early enough on saturday then there is plenty of time to get down to va to do the bbq and race that night and could do some fun riding on sunday. also people who are coming from farther south to the va race that may not have come could carpool north for the riding in pa. for those coming from the north it shouldn't be to far out of the way. i'm also down for the car race to va!!!

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
Then let's do this! I like this idea. I think we should make it so every one racing my event has to drink at least a beer before the night race! Is this cool with everyone to do it same day and have an epic fun weekend? It sounds gnar to me and totally bad ass. I'm not going to post any info up here except maybe a video of the hill but it's raining and I forgot to take my camera out yesterday.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
That all sounds good to me. If anyone wants to come Friday, that still would be good. Especially for the guys coming from far, and we are going to do it earlier. What time does the sun go down there? lol I say we move the Pa event back an hour, starting the race at 11, and still giving people the opportunity to ride the hill a few times before they race. I want to take you guys on a freeride of the campus and all that. I guess we could do it Friday for all the guys that come early. Keep me posted. This sounds like it would be a pretty sweet weekend. Its going to be a long ass day for the people that come to Pa Saturday morning, then drive to Va, then back home, but all worth it I'm sure.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
If you want to crash at my place saturday night after the race it's cool. Once floor space runs out we have plenty of backyard for pitching a tent and two shed's if you forget a tent and want to be surrounded by scary spiders! The sun doesn't go down until around 9 and I don't want to start racing until at least ten. That gives everyone plenty of time to chill and eat and do what we do.
What's the road like that you are wanting to race on? I see you said it's 2.5 miles and really nice pavement but I'm curious about if there are turns or anything. You don't have to post up maps or anything and I seriously hope you don't. Also make sure to have a back up hill. Big Brother is watching.

It is not windy, but it turns. It isn't straight. Not technical at all. All of the hills are sweeping. No predrifts, or slides necessary at all. Total standup hill. Pavement is incredible all except for a little tiny piece of the road where it crosses a tiny bridge. I take it at around 25mph on 70mm 4pres wheels no problem.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
a 25mph hill, to race on?
is it a switch race?
slow hills, that are long, with no turns that require you to break tuck, hurt, and aren't nearly as entertaining as a short hill that has a gnarly turn...etc.
