slow hills, that are long, with no turns that require you to break tuck, hurt, and aren't nearly as entertaining as a short hill that has a gnarly turn...etc.
I never said the hill is a 25mph hill. You will hit higher speeds than that. I said that I go over the bridge at 25 and the rough area, and never had any problems. There are a few places with like S bends and things like that which will be fun if you can maintain enough speed, which for you Keith probably will be the case. Everyone can have fun on this hill. The faster guys could totally bomb the whole thing, and the guys that aren't as confident will still be able to make it down.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
a ha, i misunderstood your last remark to mean that you hit 25 on the hill.
excuse my jump to conclusion.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
Update. I have footage of the hill and all the details.
I'm thinking we will have two races:
Hill #1
We rode the hill and had the GPS in hand.
Tussey Marathon Hill #1.
Length of race: 2.6mi.
Top Speed: 39.8.
Average Speed: 31.4
A lot of awesome winding turns.
Hill #2.
We rode the hill and had the GPS in hand.
Tussey Mountain Spring hill.
Length of sprint: .6mi
Top Speed: 44.8
Average Speed: 38.6
(Speeds are without pushing off. We only got one run in and didn't know what the bottom was like. Will ride more. Definitely raceable.)
Straight down over a hill.
20ft flat spot for pushing off.
Setup for the test run:
Kebbek JimZ Pro Flushcut
Randal Hybrid (Speed 35deg BP, RII 180mm Hanger.)
Abec 5 Bearings
SoCal 70mm 83a Wheels.
Khiro Yellows front and back.
(Not setup for speed.) You guys could rape that 45mph top speed.
I'm thinking we should race the first hill. It is much faster, and we could freeride the long one after. I'll keep you updated when one of the experienced race guys come ride with us here to see what they think is best.
Sorry, only footage of up the hill. Thursday I will video the whole downhill, and then the new, way faster hill.

Re: Working on a Central Pa Event!
i like 2.6mi of racing. even if you made the course half that it would be fun. i think #2 wouldn't be as fun since its a straight shot not much of a race without any turns.

I have to agree with Sean on this one. Turns are more fun and better for racing ............although a fast bomb is always a treat too.
