Default Going to Maryhill (with a camera)

I am going down to Maryhill Friday until Sunday to take pictures, I have never been to the event but I know the area very well. Doe's anyone have suggestions on where to setup. I am not a pro photographer but have pro equipment and shoot decent action shots. Is it possable to get a press pass for the event if so doe's anyone know how I would go about doing it? Thanks in advance.

You need to talk to John Ozman about a press pass. I believe there is info on Volcanic Promotions | The Maryhill Festival of Speed 2009 | Goldendale, WA

While there may be several good places to setup on the hill (I assume you are asking about good spots to shoot from?) You really want to be able to shoot from all over. Especially if you will be there for three days. Plenty of oppurtunities to get shots from different angles.

Start with Cowzers Corner. This is the bottom hairpin, and the easiest to get to.
After that there are 21(or so) other turns to choose from. unfortunately, in the past, I believe you HAD to have press credentials to get to other parts of the course.

I would also recommend, IF you have a REALLY good zoom, hitting the overlook. The viewpoint allows you to see about 3/4 of the course. And with a good zoom, you might get a few interesting, different shots.

Hey thanks a lot. I got a reply from John, I really needed info on who I work for, and I don't work for anyone. I am just starting out. I will probably post some stuff on here or a link to a public photobucket and just give stuff away. It has just been a hobbie. I do have a good 100-400mm zoom, so I might try the overlook. I am sure I will find something it might take a bit of walking.

I am going to fish for salmon below the dam in the early morning and in the evening, so it should be a great weekend no matter what.
