    Default CT Pre-winter rip

Hey guys, I haven't been able to do much skating but I would really like to get a good rip in with anyone from CT, in CT. Sliding, downhill, pump session whatever. I don't have a good downhill board but I don't mind carving my way down or anything like that.

My semester ends tomorrow and I work everyday but Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so I was thinking perhaps next Tuesday or Wednesday is weather permits(no rain or snow). It may be cold out but the roads are dry and fairly clean, so lets dress warm and skate!

I wouldn't mind having people come to Torrington, there are a lot of good downhill runs we could make or we could hit up some great slide hills near my house. I also wouldn't mind meeting someplace else if the majority would rather go someplace else. Torrington is known for having a police problem when it comes to skating so if the turn out would be fairly large it probably shouldn't be in Torrington.

Well, if no one can make it Tuesday or Wednesday I can probably find someone to cover for me another day or if we feel like planning ahead I can take a day off. Let me know whats up, I want something to happen before snowfall.

If we can gather the interest and heads to make it worth the drive I would have no problem driving down to fairfeild. I can bring a couple of my friends too.

Also, I would gladly pick up and drop off anyone that is interested if they are on the way between torrington and fairfield, just need to know atleast 3 days or so ahead of time so I can plan the minor drive.

I might be heading out with Ned this weekend to check out some DH hills and do some slides, but it's mostly scouting so it's not the best big group activity. I have a fun spot that has a good sliding hill and a small DH course with top speeds of 25-30. It's a fun spot though.

Well I mean it doesn't have to be this weekend or next week or even the week after, when ever is a good time for everyone and before the season ends. I don't have classes til january 25th I believe so all I have to worry about is work.

xxguitarist, do you live in RI or just go to URI? I'm going to be up there for christmas break, and I want to be able to skate.

The season never ends as long as you have a warm coat and gloves.

Weeknights are not good for me. I'm pretty limited to Sunday afternoons at this point.

Tobes - ever check out the Torrington Country Club Golf Course in Goshen? It is just past the wild animal farm on the opposite side of the street. I have been by it several times (My daughter has acting classes in Goshen on Saturday mornings) - I might have between 10:15 and 11:15 am on Saturdays available. There is an AWESOME down hill on that golf course - it is paved and is for the golf carts. It is farther down than the enterance and the "main part" of the course. It levels out and goes over a little bridge. So far, no one is golfing out there lately - I am DYING to rip that hill. Parking would be tricky though - and it is a private club. Just curious if you ever scoped it out.

Unfortunatly I have to work this Sunday... that sucks.

I know the golf course you speak off, there are a lot of good places on the course that I want to hit real badly but never had the chance.

I scoped out the hill I was think of today - no go! Huge hill, then levels out, goes over a bridge, and just ends. So, You would blast down the hill, and hit grass right away. There are probably others, but I did not actually go out on the course, they are way up in back. A winter bomb would have to happen too - I imagine all other seasons the course is full of golfers.

Any good paved cemetaries up your way? (Those tend to have decent curvy hills, with little to no traffic)

Anyone down for a session this weekend some time? I'd like to do up the garage in Waterbury or the Industrial Park in Watertown or New Haven maybe...

Santa brought me a new Landyahctz - gotta break her in...
