Re: Salem/Portland OR, Double Race Weekend!!!
Top speed of around 35ish, but unless you actually tuck the whole thing, it can actually be kind of slow. It's more about being confident going into corners and trusting your wheels to stick. The hardest part is just holding you tuck the whole time, you legs get tired.

If you have a decent tuck you will be mid forties most of the time, The fastest i've been on the hill was 48 according to gps but that was a while ago. Fun hill though, it's goign to be a blast. 35 is about the slowest you could possibly go in a tuck on that hill. You should come

I'm guessing that top speed was on the last part though right? From my experience the only hard corner is the second one at the very beginning, but even then if you just air brake a little it's no problem.

Ya, the last part was clocked at 48 but we have had our trail car say we were at 50 going aroundthose sweepers at the begining, that's starting at the very top though also
Let me know when, i'm always up for getting a few dudes to sesh this hill. I'm going to Eugene for school next year also, I can take you to some epic DH sessions

You won't need to put a knee down... but if you crash you'll definitely want all the protection you can get. I've done Gibson with and without leathers, and I would definitely recommend leathers.
Following riders in a truck the last couple of days I would say once you get around the first right the speeds stay in the upper 40s the whole way down... I think the only time I've gone ~35 on that hill is before the first turn...
