Figured I would post something about this...

I go to school at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia. I have been working on planning a race on a hill very near campus that I just made a bit of progress on.

The location of the race is Doe Creek Rd. in the Mountain Lake Conservancy in Virginia.

Work is continuing but we're looking at a race date in this coming May. No exact date yet or any real information yet but if you are interested please let me know and I can get you whatever info I have right now. Helmets, leathers, and slide gloves will be mandatory but no exact info regarding prices or age limits is ready.

Please let me know if you are interested in hearing more about this race.

I don't remember an exact speed for the hill but you will be moving. I'm not talking over 60mph but this is a fast hill...

It's about 4 hours give or take a few minutes.

I have no definite answer about a freeride yet but I promise there will be practice. If there will not be a freeride count on lots of time on the hill. It's a killer kill that will kick you over 50mph.

Hahaha...this is not an outlaw.

The road will be closed and supported by the conservancy. Keep the interests coming...I need a bit of a list before things will really start moving forward again.

I'm in for this, but 2 things; are there any near by camp sites? and I have a friend who doesn't have leathers yet would like to race, would it be fine if he wore like a leather jacket and jeans, or maybe a jump suit layered with duct tape?

Hmm...

I don't know for sure about campsites. If there aren't campsites nearby I will try to work something out with the conservancy to put riders up on their ground. I have no good answer for the leather jacket and pants but for now...assume no.
