I thought one thread with the who/where/when details might be easier to keep up with. I haven't seen details on the Paypal account yet (but haven't looked hard either), so someone please post here.
Northwestlongboards are getting some folks together to go to Goldendale the 20th & 21st, but are planning dates in October as well it looks like.
Some Portland and Salem folks want to help out, so lets start discussing details!
Meet where?
Which day(s)?
What time?
What tools should we bring?
Does anyone need carpool rides?
Has the city gotten back to anyone about what they would like to see done? Improve the skate park is what I've heard so far.
Has anyone approached the museum to make sure feathers are smooth there?
John, EBasil, Kai, this was your event that was treated so disrepectfully - what would YOU like to see happen to try to make this right?

So lets hear ideas!
We are working on it right now, we want to make sure everything is well organized and Goldendale is fully on board with what is planned. You should be seeing solid details Monday.

Thanks Kai, sometimes we forget government works a 40 hour week! I was just worried this was going to end up being an all talk, no action situation.
Remember that the internet is lightning fast, but that we're setting up something in coordination with people that work the 5-day week and hours. This is the weekend.
Essentially, we're working to setup the City with a PayPal account to receive funds and the City has never had one before. Unlike you, me or almost anyone reading this, the City has accounting and legal concerns that none of us have as individual people, so there was a major issue with even creating something that so many think should be like a snap of (someone else's) fingers. That is fully resolved now.
We contacted the administrators of Ontario Longboarding, Coast Longboarding, StreetLuge.com and other sites on Friday, to see if they're willing to run a story or thread for the Goldendale reparations that includes the paypal address (although it didn't exist yet) and all but one have responded postively.
Next up on the menu, the optimistic thought that we may all raise more money than "the bill" from the fairgounds -- a "bill" that hadn't been totalled or sent by close fo business on Friday. Note again, we on the internet are on a different schedule than people that have this as their job(s) and that are currently on their weekend. Anyway, if there's "leftover money", what to do with it? Even though some good ideas have been suggested, my choice was to ask the City to decide and we've worked out an idea. I think you all will like it, and it incorporates the desires of many, including Mc99David, to setup community service: we'll use the overage to fund the supplies/materials for a community service day.
Lastly, I think it's better that the skate community does this WELL, rather than just "fast". The people directly involved think the same thing. So, brothers and sisters: wait for Monday, okay? While you're waiting, things are still happening, and your turn will be more important -- after Monday.

Yea something SF is good at, being good to our word. Love us or hate us, we get it done.
