Y'all should chill. The point of these things is to grow the speedboard scene and have some fun skateboarding.
Worried about blowing out your spot? Have people meet up somewhere else, then head to the hill. This also allows you to screen out people who shouldn't be there before you get to the hill.
Worried about the law? Make it invite-only via a closed facebook group. Combine with the aforementioned off-hill rendezvous strategy for maximum security.
Worried about liability? Make it invite-only. Your friends are less likely to sue than some random outside interlocutor.
Worried about safety? Do what you can; but skateboarding is dangerous.

As far as I am concerned, all this thread is worth ZERO except for Nick and Mason's accomplishments.
Nick and Mason FTW!

Your missing the point that an east coast series is going to require more than two people to make races. As far as I'm concerned, this thread is worth a lot because a bunch of guys are stoked on trying to set up events in their towns now. It's a good start.

?????????
hhhhhhhmmmmmmm
despite some of the bickering i am blown away by this comment
i have not only been busting my ass to find a spot for all of us, but trying to maturely communicate with people in a considerate manner, and even offered my talents, money, time and lawyer to the cause.
i will have a contest and i have NOTHING to prove to anyone
i was trying to bring people together
i have organized vert contests from before u were born
i am sorry that u have no faith in those u don't know
u don't have to come to our race
we do travel to contests (i went to spokan wash, just to go to a race) because the crowd is cool and so is the vibe
u can feel however u want
but u just called a lot of us bull shitters
and u don't even know me
i'm sorry that u feel this way
u r still welcome to come to our race
just keep an eye out for the flier
if anyone wants to discus our contest please pm me
thank you for your cooperation
anthony i will be in touch

Re: 2009 East Coast Outlaw Downhill Series
All you guys are big boys and girls. Nick and Mason have CONCRETE PLANS and a lot of you don't. Get some freakin dates, make a new damn post, and announce your race if you think all this is worth it! I'm not trying to criticize, half of that statement was meant as a joke. But cmon, I want DETAILS, not "oh yeah wegotthis hill it's rly good i wanna have a race i iwll let you guys know"
I never called you all bull shitters. You guys have the most freakin posts in this thread and your concrete plans amount to zip.
It was not an attack. Go out there and do your thing! I believe in you.

ok
i admit
perhaps i was a LITTLE sensitive-lol
there just seems to be too much opposition here (not necessarily u jam)
and i really am stoked about this and i don't really understand why we just can't all be stoked and do this
i think a lot has been accomplished in a little bit of time (planning, format, dates, connections, sponsors, and prizes)
i really like the races that i have been to and the people i have ridden with and i just want to bring that vibe (and whoever wants to come) to our area
so
let's just do this and be STOKED
and by the way
we do have a date
may 10th
and we do have hills
see ya at sultans
peace out
ray

Re: 2009 East Coast Outlaw Downhill Series
connor- this is a brainstorming thread. Not the final schedule, not an official notice, just open discusion before the individual organizers take over and make all the final decisions and announce it.
Everyone needs to chill the fck out and just let things go their way. Some races will make it, some won't- bitching won't do anything but make things less likely to happen.
I'm going to check out my spot tomorrow as I haven't been there in a while and once i have everything planned out i'll make an official notification. I'm just putting all my brainstorming ideas in here so that if anyone has some input they can let me know now while I can still make changes.

i think feb would be bad for everyone else because there is generally school then and nobody is free, feb is also sometimes the coldest month
so traveling could be bad

Re: 2009 East Coast Outlaw Downhill Series
febs a no go for me. keep it real guys. actually schedule something!!

Re: 2009 East Coast Outlaw Downhill Series
Yeah, February is a bad month. I'm not a big fan of the winter races.
