Im goin NOW for this competition. Hope everything will go ok! Sliding comp is next sunday comin...ill let you know guys how i did...cause there is some sort of hill wich i dont consider as one, so, well see!!
The sage, Longboard Buddha once said, "A tree spends 100% of its lifetime in a static environment and only after its reincarnation as a deck is it allowed to move at fast speeds...
when allowed, the wood will give thankless service if
allowed to flow."
One silverfisher down, how many left to go
I was wondering who else from silverfish was coming to paris, I saw on slalomskateboarder.com that wefunk was coming, great to hear that !!
nice one Fabrice, looks like some pretty nice pizza, you can enter it in the pizza contest on sunday after the races and stuff. I wish I could be there again this year....im just gonna have to sleep with last years trophy at night so I feel better about it. Good luck man, say Hi to Claude and MB.
3rd place even with an elbow injury + tendinitis!!!! Sucks that i screwed up my first 2 runs...but a podium and my first international event contest!!!
Paris was a real blast!
To my shame I didn´t see much of the sliding contest cause I was kinda busy with the slalom races and trying to do business in between the races and the beers. (Duvel rocks! Belgian strong ale 8,5% - double fun in on beer!)
But I saw F sliding the first day on the wet slalom course when there were no races.
Let me describe it this way: Where a slalom racer tries to stay in control with as much traction as possible, F makes an art of controlled near-desaster.
Especially drifted turns and standup slides are really cool to watch if you see it from a slalomers point of view.
It was also cool having yet another beer with a nice and relaxed silverfisher.
Congrats for your great result in the contest!
The slalom contest was great. I did best in my most unliked discipline in tight-slalom which was not so tight but very fast. I rode my new GS deck with the middle wheelbase and made a (respectable for my level) 22. place of 44 riders.
It was great having some time to chat with you guys, not that much time since putting on a race is really a lot of work, i still got to have a beer with F and a duvel with alex (who seemed like he was enjoying it a lot ).
There was a really nice display of kaliber and wefunk boards there, and the wefunk foam core boards look really nice for euro-style slalom (i do like somewhat larger shapes though, but a lot of people have been saying that so you might not need to hear it again).
I also got to meet hackett, I met olson last year, we had a really nice time.
And F, you convinced my girlfriend and me, so we might come and race Top Challenge this fall if we can gather some money.
Thanks a lot pierre, I'll let you know if I'm coming I've found 500euros flight for paris montreal, if anybody is aware of cheaper fares please let me know.
And to all the other silverfishers, here's what alex (wefunk) looked like pretty much all three days
