For all of you that spend a few days in the french city, we meet every Tuesday evening from 21H to dawn to the Trocadero, just in front of the Eiffel Tower. Every year this spot welcomes the Paris Slalom World Cup, so there is a potential for slalom riding. We now have a good level in our slalom scene, and also in the art of sliding.
So if you want to know how many people will be there on Tuesday when you come in Paris, leave me a mail max@riderz.net
paris is one of best cities for skating. the locals are friendly, there's always something going on and there are hills everywhere in the city. good memories of paris for sure.

Honestly Paris is not very hilly, but you can find some nice spots to tease your legs and practice carving.
we regularly go in the suburbs to find out real downhill spots. with a car, or by taking the subway, you can find roads 10 miles far from Paris.
nice to hear you

AH, just wondering... can Montmatre be skated? :P
My mother is actually emigrating to France somewhere in april (Ardennes, woohoo hills for me!), so perhaps I will go look up the scene in Paris!

Montmartre is full of paved roads, so not that many spots...
altough there are nice roads to carve down.
Check this site, which explains basically ALL the possible downhill places in Paris: http://longskate.typepad.com/paris/spot/index.html
Brigadier, I checked out that site with pictures of your slalom riding, it looks like the scene in Paris is united and growing!!! Your article that was posted makes me want to come ride the suburban hills of Paris... Good stuff keep it up!!!
Thanks a lot, I do not practice slalom, but we try to develop an "underground championship" on Paris, to improve the level of the locals.
We try to make it more seriously, by this way we want to France as an active place of riding.
Recently, France has many downhill events and freeride events, but Slalom start growing up for two years now.
The Pirate Slalom Series have welcomed some belgian, german and british riders sometimes.
In two weeks, just in front the Eiffel tower, on four days, the Paris Slalom World Cup will take place. So if you want to visit Paris this month, take your deck !
anyway, whenever you come to Paris, drop me a mail to max@riderz.net
