    Exclamation Segovia, Spain

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to touch base and check out what kind of a scene there is in spain. I'm going to be living in Segovia from september until February, and I was trying to decide which boards to bring. Are there many of you doing DH, or is most of it freeride? It'd be sweet to get in touch with some of you guys before I head over there too!

    Hi there!

Segovia is a pretty small town, so not sure what type of skate scene you'll find there. The good thing is it is very close to pretty big mountains and to Madrid (50 miles)!

To check the scene (everything will be in spanish) check the forums at:

Madrid scene (Longboard, slalom, soul riding, some DH) : 40sk8 LongSchool
Barcelona scene (similar): Longboard_Mediterranea - Inicio
DH scene in Spain: Zonagravedad. El Portal de los Deportes de Inercia.

Have fun and eat some piglets (Segovia's specialty)!

hey thanks for gettin back to me about this. How difficult will it be to meet up with people to do sessions in Madrid and nearby locations? I'm still scoping out how serious I'm going to be as far as boarding goes while I'm there.

Not difficult at all. Longboard crew in Madrid is very friendly:

    - Every sunday morning there are slalom & free carving sessions at Parque del Oeste (Paseo de Camoens) in Madrid center
    - Nearly every day at night you have people cruising and carving at El Retiro (Cuesta del Angel Caido) and Cuesta de Moyano, also in Madrid
    - In the forum of 40sk8 LongSchool every thursday/friday people propose skating get togethers for the weekend (Skatepark, downhill, slalom, cruising, etc).

Not sure about Segovia, as it is a pretty small city. But in a 20min train ride you are in the center of Madrid.
