Clip is better - easily put your helmet on with gloves. I suppose they aren't as robust, but I love my Skyrunner's clip and it's never failed me in crashes. Any reports of them actually failing?

Daddow @ Bathust?? (Not sure what the problem was, so could be irrelevant)

Anyway, a clip IS convenient, but often the strap is adjusted either too tight or too loose. They usually end up on the loose side. (Cheap flexy webbing on most DH Bike helmets imho)

Not keen on plastic clips for attaching helmets. Both prongs don't always lock, or the comfort padding stops the prongs from engaging.
Plastic Fastek clips were designed for backpacks originally.
Motorcycle or downhill SKI helmet have metal to metal locks. For a reason.

All motorcycle roadracing riders use double D for a reason. Safe, infinite adjust-ability (hence often properly tightened up) Also easy to undo for paramedics.

With practice, double D is do-able with gloves.

Yah for sure there's chance for that. We're planning on this being safe, strong and comfortable - nothing is 100% on our helmet yet - even the shape. The main challenges we face are keeping it lighter and keeping the price reasonable. And no, no price has been determined yet.

Looks awesome. Woke up this morning, checked my email and got a picture of it and was stoked. I would like a d-ring strap though, if I'm paying that much for a helmet I want it to stay on my head.

the plastic buckle can be changed to a metal D-ring. the features of the helmet are not set in stone yet. the idea of a sample is for colabo and timeship to actually get our hands on a physical product and see what, if anything, needs to be changed before going into production.

if you live in the US and want to be put on a email list for future sales and information regarding when the helmet will be available for sale, shoot a email with "predator DH-6" as the subject line to info@timeshipracing.com. please include your name in the email.

    thanks for all the interest.

while i do think D rings are far better and safer, daddow's helmet flew off in his crash at bathurst because his helmet wasnt even buckled

Thanks for the info on Daddow. I was not sure, hence the question mark.

no different lists...if you live in canada you should talk to colabo about helmets, if you live in the states..timeship are the people to talk to...keep in mind this is not a official preorder list..just think of it as a newsletter for people who are interested in possibly buying a helmet when they are released.

some pics of dan pape from colabo "testing" the DH-6 prototype yesterday in rainy vancouver. casey yee photography.

if you look closely, you can see the increase in rear head protection and the beefed up chinguard from the original, kayak version.

looks great. looks a lot like a skyrunner, but more coverage on the back and a shorter/stronger looking jaw.

Hows the visor fog with the the jaw being close to your mouth? (2nd image)

That's What i like to see! Fogging seems like it would be an issue but i'm sure it was taken in consideration. Looking forward to the final product

Check out this comparison with a skyrunner. I get mild fogging with the skyrunner, but the jawpiece on the predator is a bit higher relative to the mouth/nose. Looks like your breath will be directed downwards better in the predator.

You'll still have the flow of air going around your chin wanting to push air inside the helmet, therefor pushing your breath in. Anti-fog stuff like CatCrap (for snow goggles) should do the trick, works on every visor I've ever had.
