Bottom line: don't be a hater just because you can't do a grind on vert on your DH board

which i already have and am looking to replace with something with better protection.
the price is good for similar protection compared to a paragliding helmet, though.
Nice find.

the reason i'm becoming a distributor for these helmets is because I've been talking with the owner of the company and he wants to make a Dh-skate race specific helmet, and me getting some helmets out in the downhill community is the first step.
I believe they are safer than a charly, icaro or any paragliding helmet. the helmet is fibreglass shell with carbon fibre reinforcement on the chinguard. there is 1" of EPS foam on the inside, thats the same hard foam found in regular skate helmets. while these helmets are NOT as safe as a DOT or SNELL rated helmet, the weight is sooo much lighter(850grams, not much heavier than a charly), great visibility, a good aero shape, and more hard foam than a paragliding helmet. oh ya, and its $150 CHEAPER than any of those helmets.
the visor is a standard TSR lexan facesheild....part of making this into a skate-specific helmet is a flip-up high-quality visor, but that helmet is still 6-8 months away, realistically.

will do, i've only have the helmet for a week or so, i'll try to post something tomorrow evening after i skate.
oh and i forgot to mention sizing, because its a little wierd. the helmet comes in one size fits all, with a fit-kit of various size pads to adjust fit. i wear a S to medium and it works fine for me with the pads.

If Predator makes a DH helmet for 150 or less it will be a huge success. I like the carbon and it looks quite sturdy, Def a better race helmet than the Icaro or Charly.
I'm very interested to see where this goes. Please keep us updated on this. I wish I had the money around to buy one off you to try but I think I should pay my rent instead...

to re-iterate...the downhill skateboard specific helmet project is JUST starting, i am working with the owner of the company on this. basically the helmet shape will remain the same(aero hump is in the works, but a new mold takes a long time and alot of $$ to do)...changes to be done, high-quality optics flip-up, easily removable face-sheild in multiple tint options that is inset into the helmet so its all flush. a better method of keeping the helmet on. right now its 3/4" tubular webbing with a plastic buckle, i would feel safer with 1" webbing and a metal D ring closure.
as i said earlier, this project is just starting and the estimate on the time till dealers will have them is late winter. shooting for the $250 price range, which is still cheaper than a charly/Icaro.
if you can't wait that long and don't mind a lexan facesheild and want to pay alot less then this is the helmet for you.
oh and yes, i have tried fitting my Charly Visor onto the helmet, no bueno, have'nt tried a skyrunner or 4flight visor yet, but i don't think its gonna work, the opening on the helmet is LARGE, which is great for visibility but the other visors are to small.

Also very interested in this.
Davidp, if what you're saying is true and continues to make progress, this could be an incredible advancement in the dh community.

This is Silverfish, take it with a grain of salt. It's fun to come back to at the end of the day, but nothing beats the real deal. Make your own judgments and form your own opinions. Remember whose lens you're looking through!
A DH helmet for 160$ would be AMAZING. Once I get enough cash together I will 100% contact you...
But... important question: does it come with a visor? I'm really ####### tired of making half-assed visors for my cheap helmets so... this is kindof a make or break part of the deal. It looks like you made the one in the pics yourself.
