Default Stoked Skateboards - Help us pick safety gear to carry, please...

Ok, since I have been skating, I have used alot of different pads/helmets. Currently, I am using a set of Protec pads/helmet. These are ok for weekend and recreational use, but if you use them everyday, they wear out pretty quickly (mine have within a year of daily use.). The liner gets nasty in the helmet and the elastic on the pads stretch out. They start to slip around and end up sliding up when you fall, which negates the intended purpose. However, there is a steady supply of these pads because Protec is a mammoth manufacturer.

I am trying to find the best pads/helmets at the most reasonable price. We want to offer those on Stoked.

I can tell you that people seem to like the 187 gear, and props to him for having a good product. The prices are in line with the quality. But it's hard to get a regular supply of these from the manufacturer.

S-One makes some great helmets, CPSC and recreational. They are very available and right around the corner from our HQ. We are pretty set on using them. It's too bad they don't offer a PRO line of pads, yet...

ProDesigned are out of this world expensive, but supposedly great stuff.

So sound off and tell us what you want to see on the site, what you use, and what doesn't work and why. I have done some research, but there isn't a whole lot of talk about safety gear other than helmets here on the 'Fish.

Having a few Bell Drop helmets on hand would be a good idea, and I'm a huge fan of The 187 Pads, they destroy Pro-Tec pads. I own Protec and 187 Pads.

I haven't tried any other pads. For non-DH helmets I've always trusted Pro-Tecs (did you know Vans owns pro-tec now?)

I'm sure most of use that use Pro-Tec pads do so, because they're so affordable. They're kind of disposable.
I have a bunch of skateboards

Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

Here's a good thread on knee pads, if this is what you're looking for.
