    Default 8mm bearing spacers

They're back! We're now stocking 0.300"/8mm bearing spacers. These are made by Khiro, and the samples I've been testing fit really well in my 85mm Krypto's (with Rocket bearings). These will fit the cored Gravity wheels, and all of the Kryptonics that are listed on the Mile High site/store.

Are you going to have any Rockin Rons bearings in stock soon? And while I am asking... is there going to be a restock of the Sin Systems sets once more?

I'm trying to get in touch w/Ron, but he may be out of town. I'll ping him again.

I doubt we'll re-stock the Sins, as demand for them has been very, very low.

Yup. Every one of the Classic K (70, 76, 80, and 85mm) and Hawaii K's that I have in stock are using cores/hubs with 8mm bearing spacing.

No prob. Next step is to get some more of those 9mm-ish Lucky spacers for the Spitfires. And for the griptape geeks out there, I have 10" Wooster/Negative One and 10" Bullet (fackin' great tape) rolls coming. Oh, and a few more BDS Gas Head II decks (with die-cut grip).

That's strange, because last year they were all 10mm, or so I thought. It vexes me that they would make such an obscure change for no apparent reason. Krypto just doesn't seem to pay much attention to skaters and the market. Still nice wheels. I highly recommend Hawaiis for cruising and general mellow use.

They were spec'ing 8mm spacing on the 76mm and taller Classic K's. The 70mm Classics and Hawaii K's were using 10mm spacing. Now, everything seems to have 8mm spacing, but I'm spot-checking every batch I revceive. Thankfully, I now have 8mm spacers.

What really bugs me is when axles aren't threaded deeply enough, etc. A lot of skate wrenches aren't deep enough for you to fully tighten down the axle nuts with 8mm-spaced wheels. In those cases, I use the thicker Seismic speed rings or some nylon spacers that I found at Lowes to take up the slack (i.e., position the axle nut closer to the end of the axle).

I use some advice from Rock-N-Ron. He posted at the concrete diciples site
that he always uses 2 speedrings on the inner of his trucks. Said something
about truck hanger being so irregular and the bearing flexes, that this would
help save the bearings from being damaged due to flex from rubbing the on
truck. Saving the bearing covers. But 2 speed rings don`t quite make
up the difference. So I used the 2 speed rings plus the nylon cover ring from the rims and the outer and they fit just right.

Oh yes, I love my Kryptonics Hawaiins 70mm 78a wheels for cruising.

Mark, have you asked Kryptonics why they reduced the space between bearings in the 70mm Classic K wheels??

Do you have Krypto's e-mail? I also want to ask them about it.

We do not have 8mm spacers in Brazil... Damn it!!!

I haven't contacted them about the bearing spacing. Considering how much their duro's vary, this may be the lesser of two evils.

If you could ask them about it I think lots of riders here would be pleasant to know the reason for such a change...

    Default spacers

On trucks without enough threads to run 8mm spaced wheels, I have been using 3mm bicycle inner chainring spacers. You can change the track of your truck by positioning them on the inside or the outside!

No problem, been an avid Kryptonics user since 1977. I love the new
70mm 78a Hawiians I bought from MH running Rock-N-Rons bearings.
Custom made 8mm spacers, ground 10mm spacers down to fit them
    properly.
