If its till then I'm gonna kill myself haha I know he has a life outside board building and this is kinda a small side venture. Waiting almost as long as a CF mosquito though is not what I was expecting when I ordered a mini.

Dude, it's all worth the wait.... I just put it on the back burner and go about my day (occasionally thinking of it during the day, but still..), and I know when it does eventually come in, it's gonna be a blast. But until then, I just keep building anticipation in looking forward for that day.

It prepares me for later on down the road if I buy something that has like a 4 month production time... It's well worth the wait.

Wait so he's not coming back for 3 weeks? You're kidding me right?

As much as I love Austin and his work, three months is not going to make me a very happy customer. IMO he should've took his new job as a sign and stopped taking orders earlier.

I've ordered before and it only took three weeks to complete, I was expecting the same for this one. I promised my friend he was one of the best custom board builders around, sadly, he's at home with no board in his hands.

Again, I love Austin, his customer service, and his work, but this really isn't cutting it for me.

Well he actually said couple weeks. So that could actually be 2 weeks.. But if that was true, saying 2 weeks sounds better then couple weeks.

ease up man. he is trying to avoid this type of things from happening, he just got overworked and you need to give a dude a break. relax and if you have a serious problem then talk to him.

Well he is a custom board builder- Its not like other companies where the board is already built, and they just ship it to you. Yea 3 months is longer than what it is typically, but still 3 months for a hand built board that rocks is still pretty good.

Everyone's busy, and sometimes you gotta cut some people some slack.

Umm...wait a minute.

I don't think Ivan's objecting to the 3-month wait; I think he's objecting to expecting a similar wait as he had for his previous board (3-4 weeks) and being surprised by the 3-month wait.

I'm all in favor of supporting small builders as well (hell, I'm one of these people in line - waiting for a Grover, in my case), but I think folks' feelings are legitimate when an expectation is set and then not met.

Again - this isn't a criticism of Austin - he's clearly working very hard to meet customer expectations despite a tremendous upswing in demand. But let's not get on people just for expressing shock or frustration that their board wasn't ready within the timeframe they were led to expect.

yeah he got SLAMMED this summer. everybody is stoked on his boards and he got a ton of people who were recommended to him by people who already owned some of his decks.

i looked at the CLB thread a little while ago and looked how people reacted to different points in time. first they were like oh he's just backed up and then they were like come on ease up. we're at that stage right now i think, i hope it doesnt continue because arcane makes sick boards

C'mon people...just chill....
The man got popular this summer because he is offering a great profuct at a decent price. Not to mention custom finish etc.
He started a new job/profession which entails oreintation/classes etc. and his time is limited.
Have faith..making posts speculating/whining about the wait is less than helpful.
If you have issues take it to emails/pm.
Give the man room to breathe..he has kept us appraised of developments.

Alright guys I'm here. I haven't left and Arcane will NOT go down the CLB path. I will not leave my customers out to dry. I've worked too hard to build the rep that I have with the boards that I build. As many, if not all of you hopefully know, I'm in Santa Cruz right now for work, for TWO = a couple weeks. Not a press, glue roller, drill press or band saw in sight so there's not much I can do. If I could have it my way I'd be back home with my family and my dogs plugging away on every ones boards. It's taken the hotel I'm staying at until tonight to move me to a room that actually has the 'high speed internet service' that they promise. Up until now I've been stuck with 30 minute wait time just to load a page on the internet. Checking and answering email was out of the question.

So here's the situation, no excuses just an explanation. This summer I got F*cking ROCKED with orders. June should have been a clue to me for what was to come, a huge leap in orders. July hit and along with it just about 75 board orders. I had no problem with the wait time I gave everyone because I had no idea that I'd be starting on a new job. One I must say is the only occupation other than board building that I think I can really find purpose and happiness in life with and feel that I make some sort of difference. After the July rush and juggling the new job I stopped all new board orders out of respect for those that had already ordered.

Once again, I deeply apologize for the wait time increase. I know that a lot of you are getting to the waiting breaking point so if anyone feels that they need a refund and the board's not worth the wait, hit me up. For those of you antsy in this thread, I understand. For those of you defending me, Thanks.

Here's some pics I though I would share. I'm not home so I can't take pics of boards but I figured I'd do what I could in my impotent board building state to make you smile. Today I got a day off with time to kill and explored Santa Cruz a bit on my Grover, here's what I ran across. The skate park in some of the pics is small but awesome. Hopefully some good stoke pics will help lighten the mood in this thread.

Some more pics to hopefully spread some stoke. A garage I found at about 12:30 last night. Pretty nice except for the speed bumps. As soon as I got to the top I noticed some guys on the street getting the questions put to them by the local boys in blue, black whatever. Not sure what was going on but the guys had longboards with them. maybe they were getting busted for riding the garage. Whatever the trouble was I rode it for about an hour while they were down there. The cops finally cut them loose a little later.

Arcane, I just had to congradulate you on making a perfect board.

I just got my lil fin today, at about 6. I rode it from then till 10 minutes ago.

IT IS THE FREAKING BEST. I can bomb small hills on this thing, and it's great for slalom and pumping.

About 8-9 people today tried it, and shat bricks at how nice it was.

Here's the final product, with it's Dadday.
