    Post Skate For The Twins

Serge Berig is about to embark on an epic adventure. He's going to skateboard across the continental United States, using his LBL, his own leg power and dedication to the fight against breast cancer. He's got the route, he's going alone without support vehicles and he's going to be blogging his progress. Check out out and, in a few weeks (when he's desperate and reduced to eating Funyuns and scraps of hamburger left in truck stop dumpsters) toss him a few bucks using the link you'll find down below. Toss him a few more, and the excess all goes to charity.

    Skate For The Twins

Hey guys. My name is Serge Berig and i've been an avid longboarder for close to three years now. I'd like to start off by telling you about what I have planned for this summer and the inspiration behind it. On May 22, 2009, I will travel to Annapolis, Maryland where I will embark on a 3500 mile journey across the country. I have partnered with the American Breast Cancer Foundation and will be fundraising for them, with a modest fundraising goal of $1000. The name of the trip is "Skate for the Twins". Along the way, I also hope to promote alternative transportation methods. My final destination will be San Francisco, California, where the adventure will reach its conclusion. Mark Dalmacio, from KickPushCure, might join me on the last stretch of the trip as well.

I hope to average around 45 miles per day, which means the trip will take around two and a half months to complete. The trip will involve camping whenever possible, and there will not be any chase cars or sag wagons. The trip is self-financed, meaning that my personal expenses will be around $2000 with food costs, motel stays etc... taken into account.

Is this the official thread for encouraging, razzing and being awed by Alpha's Excellent Adventure?

Organizing people is a mess. I'm gonna stop by in sacramento, hang out with the Tactis peeps for a day or more time permitting, and then skate from sacramento to vallejo then to san francisco. When I get to sacramento I will let people know I am in the area.

    Thanks all

Hey Serge, you're a true man of action. I got a chuckle out of your other thread at all the avatars that said (paraphrasing) Hell yeah! I'm down for sure!...until...time to deliver. The fact that you're going ahead is a testament to commitment and solid characer, both concepts that take much more than words to demonstrate. My money is on you pulling this off. Donation forthcoming (wish I could give more, but no work=no loot). No guts, no glory, eh?
