Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hi! My name is Pyry and I'm addicted to longboarding.
The first time I ever stepped on a board was early last spring. Since Then I have spent most of my free time on wheels. I had three longer pauses, one due to infected achilles tendon and two after eating some dirt without pads. I've been lucky to survive without braking any bones. Now I've learned to use my helmet and pads whenever I'm going to do some higher speeds or new tricks.
At the moment my quiver only contains one complete board, Lush Bahari. I do have a lot of hardware lying around tho so I'm planning on building a new board during the winter. I'm thinking of some kind of Old school/slalom hybrid so I can learn to pump and do some os kickflips, bonelesses and handplants on parking garages. Here in the north the best season is starting to reach its end so soon we have to skate indoors.
Besides skating I'm also interested in the artistic side of this hobby. Deck graphics, grip art and building boards.
Other trivial info about me; Male, 21 years, living in Finland.
So I think that's it for now. See you folks in the forums.
Ps. As you may have quessed english is not my native language so I apologise if I don't make perfect sense 100% of the time. I give you a permission to be grammar nazis and correct my spelling etc.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hi there!
I'm new to Silverfish, but I've been riding my own board for a full year now, in either Saskatoon or Regina, SK. I find it a great way to commute (weather permitting) and I've been dancing up a storm these past couple months. Just finished making a couple pairs of slide gloves that are working great and getting me excited about group parkade sessions. I've done downhill a bit and scarred myself up on many occasions, but I've found that the flow and glide of dancing and carving is what really gets me stoked about longboarding.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hey everyone, SpikeJones here from the great state of Texas. I recently crossed over from the darkside (aka kickflip side) after deciding that there is much more to boardsports then trying to ollie every stair set in sight, and discovering that I'm not very good at it anyway. So about 2 months ago I replaced my caveman trucks and wheels for some that can actually turn, and I haven't looked back. 8) Once I learn a bit more about this side of the coin I plan on buying a proper longboard. Look forward to meeting yall

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hey, my name is Skylar, I'm 17 and live in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada.
I used to ride a shortboard/kickflip board/whatever you want to call it, and I enjoyed riding, but I was always being called a poser because I didn't do tricks (no point, imo, I have more fun just riding). My board (which was second hand to begin with, and already ratty, waterlogged and falling apart) eventually started to sag, and it snapped in half a few days later, and I didn't bother to get a new one.
I tried a longboard a few weeks ago, and fell in love instantly. Ordered my board a couple of days ago (Apex 37), and I can't wait to get it.
I think I only saw one other person from Ridge on these forums, if you see this post, send me a PM and we'll skate once I get my board! =D

Sweet, another person into longboarding. Its going to take over the world eventually.
The feeling of Long boarding, is as if someone made the road into rubber and I can use it to my advantage to carve and slide however I like.

Howdy,
Representing Lawrence, KS here. Been skateboarding a long time (late 80's), but a recent longboard convert. Been cruising around on a Gravity carve 39, and loving life. Starting to learn some tricks, mostly been sliding.
If there are any other Larryville longboarders out there, hit me up.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hi, I'm from Sacramento California, freshmen at sac state. I started skating about two years ago on a shortboard then got into longboarding when my friend let me ride his sector 9 goddess.
My first and current longboard is the Gravity Bruce Logan OG. I'm just riding a stock set up for now but I want to learn how to slide. Once I start to get the hang of sliding I plan on switching out my trucks and wheels so the board becomes more slide friendly.
