Hi my name is Fermin i live in NC, WAYYYYY back in the day i used to skate (back in the 80's

) then i joined the military, 20 yrs later for my birthday my girlfriend suprises me with a Sidewinder Sector 9 long board, needless to say i ride it to work EVERYDAY. So i was trying to find more info on some "the NEW era" skating and came accross this site and well here i am!!!!!!

Hi, My name is Oriana, I'm a girl from Puerto Rico, 22 years old. I have decided to buy a longboard but I'm waiting for my scholarship to arrive [don't tell anyone

, I know it's suppose to be for book but I bought them already hehehe] I got inspired by some vids I saw on Youtube [I want to do that

] So because I don't know much about the sport, I join SF to ask for advise.

Hola Boriqua how are you!! is always nice to see a female getting into skating, is funny you mention youtube that was one of my reasons to get a longboard too specially the video that was filmed in "El Yunque" well welcome to the site and im sure anyone here will be able to awnser any questions. oh yeah and by the way i got my long board sheap off "www.craigslist.com", what part of "la Isla" are you from?

I'm Mickey, age 19, I've been longboarding between the Long Island and Ithaca areas for a year now. I have owned/own the following decks: Sector Nine Haleiwa (found itself on the wrong end of a bus tire), Loaded Vanguard 38" Flex 4, Comet Voodoo XL, and Comet FSM Mini. I use my board to get around in general, and love sliding and occasionally speedboarding.

Heh, I'm 5'10 and about 140lbs. Don't ask me how. Chalk it up to a vegetarian diet, I guess.

But still, it's flexy as hell, especially so if you throw Gullwing Sidewinders on it, which expands the wheelbase and makes the thing like a damn trampoline. I like being able to ride a trampoline.

Oh, haha, I remember that. Yeah, that's me. I'm rocking a proper helmet and a few new decks since then, though

The Cornell Longboarding Club we started is going strong. We have good ties with Comet, which is based in Ithaca, and growing membership. About 15 regulars and around 100 people subscribed to our mailing list, and we've taught about 20 people to longboard already. As soon as we get funding from Cornell, we'll be in longboarding heaven: decks, helmets, pads galore for all the newbies.

I've been longboarding for about a month now...I'm riding a Moose 48" Pintail/Core trucks/Kryptonics 76mm wheels and pushing myself around with a Kahuna Big Stick.

I am waiting for some Bones bushings...it's my first aftermarket part, and I had to tell someone 'cause no one here cares.

If anyone's from norther Wisconsin, hit me up and we can ride in the cold!

I'm mike, im new to skateboarding in general..I normally rock 2 or 8 wheels depending on the weather and realized I never learned to board, figured i'd try it seeing as theres a skateshop near my new place and one day by happenstance I wound up with 2 flats on my car, was gonna inline but I figured no time like the present and bought my board. So here I am, gonna be ordering my first longboard in a few hours or so and all I can think about it scoping out places to ride.
