As for me, I hail from Montreal's north shore. I had been skating in my early teenage years (I'm 23) but couldn't ride to save my ass. I eventually gave up and moved on to rollerblades for a few years. Looking for a way to lose those winter pounds, I ended up buying a longboard after trying one out last summer. Fell in love. Got myself an Arbor Fleetwood off Daddies Boardshop early april and been riding everyday since then. I've recently started to bomb small hills with a fellow rider and we've moved on to more serious ones. I love the adrenaline rush.
I hail from Norman, Oklahoma. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. It's gotta be flat here. Well you're wrong . . .and right. Oklahoma has some nice rides. You just have to hunt them down.
I started short boarding in 1983 (I know. I'm old) when my brother gave me an old Makaha. I saw the movie "Back to the Future" and went out and bought a Variflex! Rode that thing to death. Had boards from Santa Cruz, Vision, Powell-Peralta, STM. Rode all styles from freestyle to vert to street until I got burned out, which coincided with getting a car. That's about the time I started mountain biking seriously, too. I could drive to the trails now!
I never was without a skateboard, though. I would occasionally go to the local skatepark and drop in just for fun. My board was also a good way to exercise my dog.
But last spring (08') my nephew came over with his new longboard and we went for a ride. Now I'm hooked. I've been riding an old Flexdex with Gullwings, but just ordered a BC from my nephew. I thought the Carver C7 truck design was really cool. Liked the story of development on their site, so I ordered some Carvers for my new board. I can't wait to see how it rides.
Thanks for reading and I enjoy everyone's posts. Keep surfing the street and hang loose.

JD, held from the Jersey Shore. I just started skating in general about 5 days ago when I bought a Bustin Cigar... The board is pretty awesome, I'm getting better everyday since then, and going to be using it for commuting at my college and future carving...

Hello my name is Mike. I hail from Wallingford CT and just started Longboarding about 2 weeks ago. It has been an enjoyable experience so far and this site has been very helpful. My first board is a Sector 9 Mundaka that I enjoy quite a bit. I'm not very good at bombing hills/carving so that it is the stuff that I am working on currently. I did not Skateboard previously so everything is very new to me
Hey! Wallyworld! We should skate some time, hit me up.

What's up guys? I'm Paul and I am in Okinawa, Japan but I'm from Durham, NC. I'm new to longboarding, only had my board for about a month now and I can't get enough!
Took you guys long enough to make one :3
I've been longboarding for a few months, got my KS M1 for my birthday in April. I really enjoy it, but haven't been doing it lately because of rain an school. I hope to get better this summer.
My name is Bill and I'm 72, but turning 73 in a few weeks. I greatly enjoy peaches, even when they are in the off season. Taking a bite into a fresh peach is like taking a bit into a newborn baby. Plump and delicious. I'm a bit surprised that there is a whole forum dedicated to the talks of fruit, but I'm all for it! I really hate all the apple lovers on this forum, apples are extremely overrated in my opinion. This one time I took a bite into an apple, and it pulled my dentures right out! My gums started to bleed from all that gingivitis packed down there, and I almost went to the hospital because I didn't eat for six days. Thank god I have all that spam saved up.
I am currently in the growing phase of my tree, and I hope it will be full grown while I still have time left to pick from it. Although it's small, it's a real beauty. My only question is: should I use pesticides? Some tell me it's good because it keeps the bugs off, but others say that it ruins the tree.
Well the phones ringing so my internet is about to shut down, but have a nice day you guys.
I have been skateboarding off and on for about 7 years and recently I have been trying my friend's longboards so I decided to order my own. I went online and ordered the Sector 9 Scarab. Here's a pic:
Hey everybody, my name is Joe, I am trying to finish college right now in Montana. I took up skiing and snowboarding about a decade ago, and just got into longboarding last fall. I got a complete setup from Whiskeymilitia.com (brand: Gold Coast). It is a crappy board which got SUPER warped sitting in a dry room for a few months during the winter, (NEVER buy a gold coast), they are poorly constructed, very expensive, and have all offbrand low precision parts.
But anyway... I am currently trying to master dancing, sliding, and pumping. Everyday after work if I am not climbing that day, I can be found riding hills on the empty streets of various housing developements in Bozeman. No traffic, fresh pavement, sun, and one of the best views available from concrete.
My name's Cameron and I just recently got into longboarding [with the help of my mate]. I am completely loving it, and i just decided to purchase a Sector9 Sand Wedge which is amazing. I love to just cruise, bomb hills, and pretty much everything else!
I live in Auckland so if anyone's about it'd be mint to go for a ride.
Hello comrades.
I'm new here. I'm from a city near Montreal. I don't own a longboard, but I will buy one when I'll have the money. Right now, I have a regular skateboard, one which I'm gonna put some Abec11 No Skoolz 60mm 78a and 1/2" risers. Then I'll buy new trucks and a mini longboard deck.
