Hey Im from Adelaide, South Australia
have only recently got a longboard and i am now addicted
I have a
Loaded Dervish Flex 2
Paris 180mm Silver
Bones Reds
Orangatang InHeat 75mm 83a
I'm not really new I guess, I joined in like 2005 but haven't been on for a while since I hadn't been longboarding as much. I can't remember my username or password so I just made up some new junk. I just started back up again and remembered this forum
anyway I'm Ryan from Maryland, I've got a couple friends who got back into it too so hopefully we'll get some riding done this summer
I started skateboarding in 1964. equipment sucked. in 3rd grade I told my friends that they were death traps.
In 1968, my mom bought some montgomery ward skateboards. composite wheels with loose bearings and a 21" short piece of kahkah. much more rideable but you goofs that do the long slides on flats would've loved these ...
in 1975, I got a pine deck with chicago trucks and cadillac wheels(loose bearings) . NOW THAT WAS SOMETHING!
2009 - 40 years of skating, I'm totally done with rubberband flex decks, bouncy cutaway nose and tail boards, pintails and all the other stuff kids love today. Hey, variety is the spice! I have gone back to a 36" flat STIFF deck with larger wheels on back and tons of turn in the front truck with a de-wedged truck in the back. It ain't for everyone but it doesn't try to be. I surfed a 4'11" Fish in the mid 70's and was laughed at often. I didn't care, especially when the laughter were from lame surfers.
Bennett's and Trackers work pretty damn good with wedging tuning. Also 71mm rears and 62mm fronts allow my style of skating to flourish. There's more to it than meets the eye! my deck is not a bad training board for new slalomers to test the waters of lots of turn up front.
I'm thinking transportation and exercise is the objective of my design. Not built for tricks. I'm all about helping people figure out how to switch skate. it adds another dimension to your skate quiver of moves. Just keep your options open when examining what kind of board you need to feel under your feet.
If you are in San Diego, stop by http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...w.muirsurf.com (awesome site) and talk to Scott. He's really a skater's skateboard shop owner! He rips! If anyone deserves to be on top of the sales ringer for skateboarding, it's this dude!

I am pretty new here as well. I had a baby a year ago and I am back to longboarding. It is summer in Colorado and I am ready to ride. To all the young noobies- ride til the end....the very end.
Just saying hi. Just purchased an Arbor Slater model with the swallow tail. It's my first longboard so I was looking for something pretty chill that I can grow with. I'm in San Jose CA.

im pretty new to longboarding and to the fish, barley ever posted here. i live in maryland but in july im moving to missoula MT, which i expect will be great for longboarding and snowboarding
Hey. I'm new here, I've been longboarding for almost a year regular skating since about age 7. I have a S9 Bomb Hills and out on eastern LI our hills are tiny so I mainly skate flat, small hills and skitch. I skate about 4 or 5 miles a day at least.
Oh snap, I just made an account minutes ago! I live in the buttcrack of Nebraska known as Alliance. I ride the modest hills of the area on my even more modest Sector9 Bert Scribble pintail. Western Nebraska is sure a long ways from the Omaha and Denver areas, but I'm hopefully moving to Seattle in a couple years with ma band
Hi Guys, Name's Mark, from Taunton in Britain. Just started getting into longboarding after not stepping on a skateboard for more than 20 years. My Evo arrived this morning complete with Orang in heats, Bear 852's and Khiro Nitro bearings. Plan on using it to cruise across town to work mostly, but also to bomb a few hills here and there once my skill level improves.
My name is Mikael and I'm from Gothenburg, Sweden. 23 years old and have been riding longboard for about three years now. I go downhill and also likes to dance and carve. This summer me and my friends are going for a great longboard adventure in the USA. We're starting off the 15th of june in New York and then we're gonna skate, skate and skate for two months ending the trip in San Fransisco.
The thing with this trip is of course, ride all crazy hills you got here and improve as a skater. But were also gonna film the whole ride and meet up with all you local skaters and put up all good things we can come up with. I would highly appreciate if you could email us if there's something we're not allowed to miss! I quit my job for this trip so I dont wanna miss a single event
you can also follow my blogg at Skating USA New York - San Fransisco the first messages there are right now in Swedish but as soon the trip "starts for real" everything there is gonna be in english.
Wassup everybody. My name is Nick, last name is Wendler, hence the forum name.
I'm 17 turning 18 this November. I'm very new to skating and even newer to longboarding, and am very soon [couple hours from when I'm posting this, hopefully] buying my first board: The S9 Kommi longboard.
Good luck with the trip Slowmover.
Im Cen just been longboarding for about a month. I used to skate a couple of years ago for about a month but badly broke my ankle trying to drop in !
