Hi! I am new to this forum, but I used to be on the Gravityboard forum a few years ago under the name Jack. Been riding since the early-mid 80s. Been on Trackers pretty much all that time. Been riding Gravity Skateboards lately. Just got stoked on Rainskates.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
howzit...im new to the fish. well not really, i've been browsin the site for over a year now and this is my first post. skating for 2 years. moved from hawaii to oregon. took up longboarding to replace surfing since snowboarding is too dang cold for me. first board was a s9 sandwedge which i luv to do some pumping with. awesome workout board. lost like 15 lbs since i got it. but cant really carve hard with it because i'd always get wheel bite. i would always browse around daddiesboardshop.com, then i found out they were here in portland, 20 min drive from my place...lol. so i joined the ban wagon and got a dervish begining of spring which i love doing some fast and hard carving with. i love going to their shop to look at boards and other parts rather then looking on line now. feels like a little kid being in toys'rus.
surfing has always been my getaway thing after a hard day of work. surfing was like therapy for my stress, and for sure longboarding is doing the same for me here in oregon, because the beach really sucks here.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Well I'll I guess I should say "Hi, I'm new!"...
But it's true. I've been searching this forum for a few weeks now and finally decided to post something.
I have a Sector 9 longboard that I truly enjoy cruising around in, but I've never bothered to upgrade anything on it.
If anybody would be so nice as to PM me some suggestions towards upgrading my board so I cruise more smoothly.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
hey. i just got my board a few days ago. its an arbor bamboo pin and i love it soooo much. for a while i wanted a short board, but then i stumbled on original skateboard's video "go longboarding" on youtube. ever since i saw that i knew i wanted a longboard. my town is pretty good for longboarding. there are alot of steep hills, but there's plenty of room in between them so you can just relax on the flat parts. it just sucks because there is barely any longboarders where i live. its definately not very popular here.

Before you judge someone, take a 1,000 mile walk in their shoes. That way, you'll be 1,000 miles away from them, and you'll have their shoes

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
hey everyone I am new of course.
my buddy jeff chapman got me into longboarding. his brother is andrew chapman who I am assuming some people here may recognize. I got my first board from landyachtz, it was a spud, and it was run over by a car when my friend fell off of it. the board snapped and I am now waiting for my new board to come in! I ordered it from rayne, it's the nemesis.
I ride in london, and chill... I'll bring my board anywhere I go and just love to cruise. Sliding is the best and I want to try to improve on that greatly.
The only question I would really have is why was it so easy for me to slide on my spud, and then when I hop on other boards it can be very difficult. this irritated me......
anyways. thanks, enjoy.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
hey, i'm new here. i got interested in longboarding while taking physics in high school. had to ride one for a lab and fell in love. i only have a small sector9 cruiser deck right now. my little brother has a surf one mini bus. we made a longboard, but weren't pleased with it. the other day i drilled holes and put my randalls on it for shits and giggles. turned out pretty decent, much to my surprise

Dude I live in Hillsboro too, behind the Hillsboro Esplenade.
I guess this is a good time to introduce myself then. I have only been longboarding for a couple of months. I got a S9 Pipeline for a grad present and its just become and absolute obsession. Im actually stuck between a few choices for my second board. Most likely I'm getting a NS Heist but would like any suggestions on the issue. I want something similar to that board. At first I wanted a Dervish but its just too expensive. I want something that can fit 75mm wheels without any bite. Ive been a fishy for like 3 weeks but Ive already been on like 50 threads. The fish is AWESOME and any help will be much appreciated. But i have to order the board tomorrow so its gotta be quick.
