Cool way to introduce yourself, Studio. Welcome to the 'fish. It's awesome that you still have that Fibreflex after 30+ years. You have a rich skating heritage.

Thanks, mostly do it for fun factor and feeling in the groove. I've had high speed get-offs when younger and experienced sketchy wood ramp vert with scars. Too old for that now, just enjoy cruisin.
ps... it is a Z-Flex. Although, my best friend from way back in 1976 still has his G&S Fiberflex. I really liked that board.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hey I'm Brandon, I used to Longboard a few years ago on my friends board since I was 12 and had no money. I recently bought a bamboo Sector 9 Uluwatu Pintail off a friend I work with for 100$.
I skate a REALLY hilly bike path by my house every day and I aim for at least an hour and a half a day. I also skate to and from work 4 times a week which is nearly 10 kms (one way, so 20 kms a day when I'm working) which total works out to almost 90 kms a week (80 kms from getting to and from work, and approx. another 10 kms from all my skating everywhere I go)

hej ! I havent properly introduced myself yet..
I'm Andrevik, almost 17 and have recently bought Loaded Dervish (my very first longboard) but have practice it for just a total of 3 hours due to the bad bad weather in the Northeast.
I've been riding Freebord for nearly a year now, and b4 that I've been riding The Wave since I was around 12-13. I also snowboard but I've never really rode regular skateboard.
when im older i wanna try surfing also !

Andrevik,
Welcome to Silverfish. Don't be discouraged by some of the DB's on here. There are some real haters of Wave/Ripstick's and other things. It's cool that you try it all. You're going to like your longboard the most, though.
Don't wait to surf until you're older. Go now!!

Thanks for the kudos, my 12 yr old daughter snapped off the pics. I went out on another session the night before last and it was way fun. My road is a little steep, 24 ft wide (20 ft usable with gravelly sides but FAST and fun. Cranking a long board into hard GS turns to keep my speed in check is finding many muscles I haven't used in alooong time.
More photos soon of my old tired arse.

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
Hey guys, Ray here. I'm from Oklahoma and I just started skating in June/July. I'll be going to UCLA in the fall and it made me want to try skating since I wont have a car in LA.
I started with a Arbor 31'' Sizzler to learn the basics of balance and carving. I just invested in a Loaded Dervish that will hopefully last my entire college experience. It's got Paris Trucks, Flex 2, and Durian 831A wheels.
Anyone else go to UCLA here?

Re: The Official "Hi, I'm New!" Thread
High everybody! My name is ethan, im new to this site, but ive been skating for 8 years now and hope to integrate myself into the longboarding community, officially. i do all types of disciplines, no need for hate. i live in Lima, Peru, home of some crazy ass hills and skaters.
I ride a Dervish flex 2 with Randal II with orange Khiro 77a double barrell bushings, Ceramic bearings, and Orangatangs In heats (both types) for general skating purposes and a Landyatchz Evo (not carbon) with Seimic 181 mm green springs and Seismic 85 mm Speed vents for bombing hills.
If there are any riders in my area of the world, hit me up some time so we can tear ass all over the city. e-mail me at Ethan_BC09@hotmail.com.
