    what would you recommend as far as brands of colored griptape

    ive been told that by everybody, and i was actually planning on doing stripes of black and green tape on my board

    Use clear tape and paint the green underneath. As far as I've seen, clear grip is generally better than colored.

    what brand? and what sort of paint? i have a neversummer with fiberglass directly under the tape

    Straight up spraypaint should do you fine (I like Krylon for pretty much everything) but make sure you mask off what you don't want painted, of course... and as for the tape, look at Mile High Skates. Mark knows what grips good, I trust anything I see on that site.

    I'm pretty sure somewhere in colorado, but I don't think they have a storefront if that's what you're wondering. Only online as far as I know, though I don't think the guy would be opposed to pick-ups.

    As far as WHY clear grip works better (I like to justify things that I tell people) I suspect this is because colored grip is most often used on conventional street decks, where a finer grit is preferred so you can flick your foot all over the deck without tearing up your shoes. Clear, on the other hand, is more commonly used for longboards... coarser grit, which (usually) translates to more (and longer lasting) grip.
