Improved Comet FSM coming soon!!!!!!!!

I recently asked the guys at comet about the FSM, and why everyone recomends the indy 215 hybrid from mile high skates. I don't want to have to order a special set of trucks that only one shop sells in order to get the full experience from this board. I want to be able to run any truck and wheel setup i want and not have to worry about wheelbite and anything else that would ruin performance. So, i was stoked to hear this reply from Keith @ Comet:

Hey man,

Not only has your input been valuable, but so has the voice of the rest of the community.And because of this, we are updating our FSM, we are not changing anything other than size of the standing platform, either by 1/2 inch or 1 inch (to be determined hopefully today) because of this, you can run almost whatever truck/wheel set-up you want. I don't think 97mm flywheels will work, but those are just huge wheels anyways.

Also, the indy hybrid trucks that MHM is selling aren't the only trucks that work, however, they really open up the charachteristics of the board. they are low (which with the rocker makes it super-low) and they are great carvy/slidey/cruising trucks, which what this board was designed for, however, it can handle DH, as so far as the rider can handle the DH...

So, all in all, you should be able to run whatever you want on this board very soon, and although you can use whichever trucks, conventional trucks are very fun on this board. (not saying others aren't fun...just saying i've had the most fun on this deck with my redrilled indy 215's)

is this an increase or a decrease?

I think a decrease so that they leave more room for the wheel cutouts?

Did I get that right?

Its a decrease im sure, going back to the proto platform more or less. It was silly to get so much community input then do a last minute change on the final production run without community input...

...for that reason. The proto was perfect. I'm super stoked for this. Although It shouldn't make much of a difference because I will probably still run the hyb215s and nothing bigger than 75mms.

the drop through version is fine if not great with a through king pin style trucks, the flush mounted version is what really needs the traditional style trucks. I don't really bite with durians on loose as #### randals on my drop through one.

For the Record regular Indy's work just fine though you have a reduced selection of bushings and have to drill your baseplates if you want dropthrough. MHS it the only store that "sells" Hybrid Indy's there is nothing stopping you from picking up a set of Core trucks from fleabay and building yourself a set of Hybrids.

Just drilled my indy 215's today for drop through mounting after constant baggering from my bud (THANK YOU) and it is 100% ####### stellar low riding cruise the #### out of it action

I had bear grizzlies on before for the record they fit just fine and flipped they actually wasn't too bad.

I am super, super, super, super stoked with this, so imagining something better.... wow.
