I'll tell you right now, I am actually fairly broke. Thus your statement is still accurate.... THANKS!!!

I got clocked at ~41 MPH earlier today after a good downhill, no wobble AT ALL. (bombed a hill and a guy in a soccer mom van was clocking me from about 50 feet back.)

Mine is real surfy too and that the way i like it. Its not the most stable board and it is more narrow that most buts its sooooo badass! I wanted the dervish, but i didnt want to order it online considering i hadnt ever tried it and to me the feel of the board is what matters =]

What was your stability like on hills, or did you have to keep carving the whole way?

Also, I imagine it must be annoying to push over long distances because the height is huge--although your roll per push must compensate for that.

Do you surf? Once the wheels are broken in and if you can do standup slides, it should feel like cutbacks.

the flex actually wasn't really an issue at all. I had my feet in a SUPER wide stance, trucks tightened up, and just kinda went for it. Also, those wheels make short work of any pebbles or stones (lucky me)

Did you invest in pads? Helmet? Gloves? Skate safe on one of the most unsafe boards imaginable for hills

The stability is amazing... if the trucks are tightened. I carried an allen wrench with me and did a little test on a small hill, if the trucks are loose (like they are in the video) it starts to get unstable around 20-25. That range is just a guess, and i'm only going on how far it took me to stop. But like I said earlier, with the trucks tight, the board turns into a rock. (hence the 41 mph clock)

As for the push factor, on flat ground (mild test at a skate park), one normal kick from a stand still got me ~50 feet or so. Not so well on sidewalks, but that is still huge compared to my shortboard. I never quite expected to have to worry about kicking the wheels when pushing, but that was just a slight adjustment to my stance, and we are good now.

Yes I surf. Not very well, but I surf. This is my first longboard and I will eventually get into sliding and whatnot, I think I have really good balance (I was a gymnast for 14 years) so it will happen. I'll let you all know how it slides, possibly a vid on it.

That setup is simply insane. Imagine it on a better board (sorry not a dervish fan).

I've always wanted to try a super wide truck just out of pure curiosity. Congrats on your first longboard welcome to the addiction.

He said he had to tighten the trucks, and you obviously haven't ridden original trucks.

with a flex 2 derv and originals riding high on 97 mms hell would freeze over before you could handle 41 mph, but maybe you went 41 km/h
