it was something with carbonfiber on it, not sure what it was made of

it could have been bamboo + some weird plywood, thats what it looked like to me anyway

It is a site that is down and we are waiting for it to be "Reborn." Not the first time the site has been "reborn" by the way. Insect seems to move in cycles. you order a board, he take your money, months almost years pass by, then you get it and it breaks within a few weeks. he said they were supposed to be "oh soo strong military grade nanotube prepreg" Bullsh!t. Obviously didnt do enough testing as he now is changing his formula AGAIN. The customer service is crap too it takes forever to get a response. Yes hes a busy busy guy with limited staff and resources but cmon theres a limit. I'd be very cautious of the new products. I respect him and his business and would love to buy another insect board, but only if all this stuff gets resolved...

jesus christ, chill. I mean, can you not see how ridiculously hyper-aggressive you all are? Honestly; no one has said anything new in this thread that hasn't been heard before...

He's just working on a new website now. The tweaks on construction have been in the works for a while, the only reason the site is down is because he has a new board he is putting up and decided to redesign the site while he is at it.

Don't get psyched out, there have been a very small percentage of mosquitos that have broken (I am talking seriously small single digit percentiles). People only talk if they had a defect; you hear a lot less from those who love their boards (which, trust me, is a LOT more). Chances are low that yours will be defective.

It's funny because what I've gathered is SF makes up a tiny piece of their sales. I'm quite positive that there's tons of dudes in the Pac-NW killin it on their decks that we don't hear about because they're actually skating.

That's not true, Silverfish has made Insect what it is today. Steve owes us all a debt of gratitude. If it weren't for us Insect would be competing with Sector 9 for the northwest corner of Zumiez.

I have a mosquito on order as a complete. Steve Hopper is/was easy to talk to and I'm looking forward to my new ride. I plan to document the unpacking and initial rides in photos and video. Aloha from maui until then. Mystery bob
