Al Dente wheels!!!
what about the idea:
Wheels that have a higher duro in the outside crust, and gradually become softer towards the inside....
that would give a fairly big shock absorption, rebound, sliding capacity and a better wear...
correct me if i'm wrong, share your thoughts

Re: Al Dente wheels!!!
It would have to be bonded together, probably 2 pours bonded together.
Also, Al Dente is softer on the outside, harder on the inside
I have a bunch of skateboards
Isn't this what you're supposed to put in a signature?

Re: Al Dente wheels!!!
yeah, I thought so, but the name just seemed to fit so perfectly hehehehe, besides the idea is: different duros acting like rings, it could be even more pours to make the change gradually maybe allowing for more energy return...
but thanks on the reply

The wheels would be very expensive.

Re: Al Dente wheels!!!
what if they're softer on the outside for grip and harder on the inside for speed?
or am i getting mixed up here?
the heck is rebound?
-
Re: Al Dente wheels!!!
i think Ricta did something like this with their speed cores years ago. but that was shortboard stuff. i think a harder wheel with a tread of some kind would be better, and easier to accomplish. water wheels, for instance are better because of the several squared lips they have.

yeah, I thought the same sing after a while, it would be very grippy and very fast... so:
soft outside and hard inside for speed and grip
hard outside and soft inside for better slides and bump absorption and freeriding... aah and better wear.
it's a good idea I think...
the photos are not like I meant it... it would be more like concentric rings, hence inner ring, outter ring.

Re: Al Dente wheels!!!
Double-Duro wheels have existed in skateboarding for years.
I'm not old enough to remember all of them but Vision, Emoticons, Spitfire, Autobahn, Ricta and even Sector9 have made 'em
Its a cool ride, but its weird once your down to single duro cause you've been riding the same duro for a while and you get use to the linear hardening of the wheel as you get closer to the core and then BAM different duro, kinda sucks.
