Thanks. i've been using paint. Ill check that out.
most people use adobe illustrator for graphics or vector graphic programs because they can scale without any loss, there are probably some free alternatives out there,
also adobe lets you download a 30 day demo of their products
Ok so this idea was brought to me...
a logo without text think of...
the nike swoosh
the volcome stone
now i think these are great logos because they get in peoples head. We want something that kids will doodling in math class.
And extra point to someone that works in something that means something to us. Watch our vids for ideas
OtherPlanetSkate on youtube
And kraffft That is so Epic!
im glad you got in on this, nice job with taking it from a new angle
You're getting into ideograms VS logotypes and the like
The reason why things like the nike swoosh , volcome stone, or the mc donald arches work so well is because they have the budget to cover the earth in millions of the symbols, and most of the time they are accompanied by some sort of text, the repetition helps consumers attach meaning to the symbol and associate it with the brand. It also helps multinational brands because they are outside of language and don't need to be translated.
I think what you really need is a logotype ( unique typeface ) that can support a dynamic ideogram or icon, that way you can put whatever sort of funky artwork along side your logo and still have it be recognizable
either that or a dynamic logo, like the MTV logo, you can restyle that any way you want but its still MTV, and the logo itself is based upon the fact that it is dynamic. So that you would be encouraging retooling and sampling of your logo, but that requires an in house or comissioned graphic designer or artist to constantly be retooling your logo.
im thinkin either a dude with a planet as a head on a board or just a planet on a board.
youve got recognition of the name - other planet. and no words
ill try to do it now, ive got photoshop cs2, are there any free download programs that would work better?
