setting up a nemesis
So i'm planning on getting a nemesis and was wondering how i should set it up... I plan on doing mostly dh as well as some freeride. any suggestions on trucks/ wheels combos? i was thinking of throwing on some on my 75mm otang orange inheats.

Re: setting up a nemesis
randal 42's and inheats sound like a pretty good freeride/downhill set up to me.

Re: setting up a nemesis
trucks will work, and so will wheels...
what i mean by this is, whatever you think will work, will probably work. theres a "post your nemesis" thread around here, search for that and gaze at the different setups.

Re: setting up a nemesis
new Sabre trucks feel rather fantastic on my Nemesis I'll tell you that. I'd add some Green Cults for DH or Blue Kryptos for freeride and have good times.

At the top of a hill at a very rapid speed there's only one place to go.
At the top of a hill at a very high speed there's nowhere to go but down.

Re: setting up a nemesis
ide say in heats are a good choice. if you want to do downhill you might not want to break them in. also dont get the purple ones (83a) unless you really know how to pre-drift and drift. they're way to drifty when broken in for a beginer

Re: setting up a nemesis
randal 42s and centerset raceforms in 82a. BEAST
and dont listen to numnum. Its smart to dh on broken in wheels. They are easier to slide in case of an emergency and they wont buck you off your board into the passenger door of a sedan that just happened to pull out in front of you. you see where im going with this

Re: setting up a nemesis
edit: no, broken in wheels are good.
Get the 80a's (assuming you don't have any sliding/drifting experience) ebcause the 80a will still slide great and like butter.

i mean we all love smashing a hill on spanking new wheels, but i cant count the number of times ive almost had a serious collision with a vehicle because i slid off my board due to the dreaded mold release chopping up my slides

Well I'm assuming the OP is new to downhill freestyle sort of stuff, so maybe wheels with a tad more grip could be more beneficial to a newer rider.
wait a second.........when did anyone say anything about dh-ing on non broken in wheels?
edit: sorry, i didn't read the first part, i guess it escaped me.
FCK that don't dh on not broken in wheels, one of the stupidest things i've heard. what if you need to stop?

oh yeah, and i meant good advice on the 80a otangs not the 83a, since as a beginner you might want a tad more grip.

This is why you ride cults, spanking slides straight out the box.

Lolwut? If the dude wants to DH on not-broken in or broken in wheels, then let him do it? There's no hard and fast rule that says you can't...or shouldn't...Which also makes me wonder, if sliding fresh wheels is so poo poo, then why do DH racers use fresh wheels when racing? Hmmm?
