The Edge... There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
The others- the living- are those who pushed their luck as far as they felt they could handle it, and then pulled back, or slowed down..bowed down. But the edge is still out there.

that really sucks, it took me about 3 months to get used to riding a drop through with all the wonderful foot bite and splits i learned from my mistake but maybe buy two of these Sk8kings: TOE STOP BY CHAPMAN

or make your own like did with some spackle underneath the griptape

for toe stops: angle iron and bolts. easy as pie as long as you dont mind drilling holes on your deck.

I'd been riding mostly drop thoughs all year. I think I just got a little too comfy and started to get cocky. As if I knew what the hell I was doing. I'll post pics eventually, once I decide what I'm going to do.

Toe awareness, yeah I need some. ha!

    been there!

I'd say toestop or maybe just a bushing on one of the mounting bolts

The Chapman toe stop as mentioned before is a really nice piece. Might be a bit bulky front and rear though.

I tried the longer bolt and a few washers and it wasn't enough on a LDP to keep my foot where I wanted it, but you could at least feel it to know where you were.

Mostly, Id try to just be more aware of it, because with as many decks as you have, it'll take a while to set them all up.

ha! I know. But I've got the dark, cold, gloomy months of Jan/Feb to get clean, prepped and pimped.

I had the very same problems when I first started with dropthroughs, ate it badly quite a few times,in the end I cut the lengthways edge off a 1/4 riser and used that as as toestop/guide after a couple of weeks I took it off and my feet knew where to go.No problems since

Toestops are your friend. The important part is the bushing you put underneath it...

Too many boards that I don't ride enough...

^ ^ Concur. I'd wonder if driving screws between the plys causes a problem.

i'd drill a hole first then squirt some wood glue before the screw

pre drilled just small enough for the treads to work and coated the screws with epoxy to seal and lock them in.

lol i know how you feel sorta... but heel or toebite on a switch is worse xD... leavin your heels hanging over the edge and rubbing them on the ground mid-slide is a great way to get thrown off your board...

    Almost forgot about this thread.

I'm happy to say I haven't had a single toebite crash this year. I've been mounting pieces of scrap slide puck on topmounts and dropthroughs alike, if there's a chance I'll have toes in the danger zone. It's just enough of a bump that I don't have to look down after pushing up to speed and getting set for some carving.
