after lurking around this forum for a little while i finally got a longboard today, and i gotta say this stoke you speak of is AMAZING!! I got a landyachtz switch, and i gotta say it feels amazing to ride. I got it used from Killdozer, real stand up dude and if he's ever selling anything that you want don't hesitate the board was packaged like it could survive a nuclear holocaust, which was a pain to tear open after i left the post office, but i appreciated the hell out of it.
I felt like a kid on Christmas morning tearing open the packaging in the parking lot haha, huge crazy smile on my face tearing through cardboard and paper and tape haha. Also go my first roadrash today as well, was hitting a small hill on the trail i was taking home and wiped out hard, my elbow looks awesome hahah and my one hand looks like ground turkey but i love it, they're like badges haha. can't wait to get some pads and try that again, was fun as hell until the sliding on my back part, luckily i had a backpack full of soft cushy carboard to land on otherwise i guess this could have been worse.
My first thoughts after i fell were where is my board, then it hit me in the back and i couldn't help but smile a little, next thought was hope those pretty girls didn't see that, then i tried to find the ice tea i just bought, but no dice on that front. But i hopped back on the board and rode the rest of the way home, except for the hills, guess i need more practice before i try and ride them.
I will post up some pics when i get some batteries charged up. I can't wait to get back out there and ride some more trails, all be it flatter ones to start hahaha.
STOKED

yeah man enjoy it. it only gets better. definately learn to coleman slide after you learn to footbreaking. it's excellent for safety and it's very fun. there are so many slides and variations you can get into. and don't be afraid to try lots of new wheels and bushings. they made a world of difference

Awesome man, I got the footbraking down i think, its so easy with the switch because its so low. should have thought of that while going down that hill hahaha. oh well, its all part of learning i guess. By the looks of it i have at least a solid week of awesome weather ahead of me so hopefully i can find some time to get out everyday that its nice until it gets cold and brutal here. I can't wait to start messing around with setups.
Edit for pics
