If you want to get a nice metal board, I say go Cindrich. The great quality and boards are definitely one of kind.

I do a fair bit of metalwork and casted an aluminum dropdeck last year. It was definetly great for bombing, I took it at 40mph frequently before I sold it. And it was certainly durable, it all just depends on the alloy...
But if you fall on a metal deck I suggest you get the hell out of the way, it'll give you an aneurysm just as well as that rich neighbor's Hummer that always cuts you off at the end of the road and screams at you. You know the one.

Re: Metal Longboards
Roger bros 3 peice if you have the need for a fast bulldozer. ive tried RB DH36 and it feels good, but it fits only 70mm wheels. bombsquad seems to have a nice alu board.

Re: Metal Longboards
Aluminium decks is not better than other types decks, they are different. Handles differently, feels differently, some like it, some don't.
And Nas, no problemo with 75mm wheels on the DH36 with the right trucks.

Re: Metal Longboards
The only bad thing about aluminum boards that i've experienced is a little rougher ride. But Bombsquad and Rogers Brothers are good people/places to check out, Cindy makes cool stuff but i don't know if he's got a website.

Re: Metal Longboards
All the metal boards out currently hold up very well. Just look at the ones listed and pick the one you like. They are all excellent quality and are nice. Here is my bombsquad.

Re: Metal Longboards
I would love to get a Cindrich if I had the money. Don;t know how they ride, but they look amazing. As for Bombsquad, I don't like it's ride because the one I road had no flex. But they guy that owned it did just that HE OWNED IT. SICK AMAZING rider. and perfect for DH riding. I personally own an Island Metal Longboard. about 34", short pointed nose with a decent kick tail. and it's flat, so it has flex, which I prefer for the type of carving/bowl riding I do.
Also, you know how wooden boards don't like it when you slam the nose into a wall when you fall and possibly stress cracks in the trucks, etc. Well, stress cracks COULD happen speaking from an engineering standpoint, but are less likely. As for the nose, I've damaged other things with the nose of my board. Dented metal light poles, chunked cement curbs. It's great, I never have to worry if my board gets away from me.
Overall, like a previous person said, it's the rider's choice. If you don't like it, return it or re-sell it. One thing I can tell you though. you will probably 1 of few, if not the only one of your friends that have one.
good luck

Re: Metal Longboards
.OH MAN, THATS NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE. yes some of the aluminum boards above look awesome but they must be heavy as all hell. My bro and I habe made boards like the EVO nad DH out of aluminum in a few different ways. 1st we used heavy guage aluminum IRIGATION PIPE1! ya it was hard to squash. then we filled it with foam and it was much more ridgid and lighter than the 12 ply Evo. the other way is to use to thin sheets of alumium and make the top two surfaces with spacers in the middle to have a hollow core. they are very ridgid and light +++ very durable.

I own a Bombsquad SF and it weighs just as much as a Pagan, fully loaded, trucks, wheels and all. I kept the BS and sold the Pagan. Not that I had anything against the Pagan (I loved it in fact), but the I really enjoy the way the BS controls. I can carve this deck almost as well as my Apex and I weigh around 175-180.
I ride mine with an 85a Venom boardside, and stock Pairs cone road side, and it's almost like a hybrid between DH and a freeride deck. I can ride it super loose and it's been stable at around 25 mph or so, but I'll find out now far she'll go this spring.
THANK YOU BS!!!
