Default Found some cool old downhill articles

Some of you may have seen this stuff already, but last night I found a bunch of scans of old articles about downhill on the Thrasher website. This is stuff from the early 1980s. Really cool to read. I have linked to them from my blog.

Texas Longboarder Blog Archive Downhill in the early 1980s

Props to Thrasher for scanning all this old stuff. It is really awesome to see.

I love reading those old magazines, and seeing how they used to cover the entire range of skating.

Darker colors tend to be a bit slower because there is more pigment in the [wheel's] urethane.
    Haha wut.

...the speed of an average quality bearing and one that is higher in quality and much more expensive, is just so negligible that it just isn't worth bothering about.
Can definitely agree with this <3

Good article. I learned nothing except that oldschool downhillers usually pressed their own decks. How times have changed!
