2.75" in my randals, its fit everything I need it to and doesn't scrape the ground which is all you need.

Edit - Oops, if you meant bolts and nuts for your baseplates? I have no clue, whatever is long enough to put the nuts on and not hit the hangers is good enough. As short as possible is preferable so you dont have to spin the nut a billion times when changing baseplates.

People use whatever is the smallest possible. Usually 1" plus the size of your risers if any

1.5 in is usually what I go for. .75 in on my park boards.

1 1/4" most likely because most boards are 1/2-1" thick so it seems that that would be the most popular choice

1/2" for the thickness of the deck.
1/2" for the thickness of the baseplate and mounting nut.
x/x" for the thickness of the riser (if any).

By observation of decks ridden by the motley crew I skate with I'd say the most popular length is about a half an inch too long...

I usually get 1.5" just in case I wanna change up the trucks but need to add risers or something like that. A little extra length for versatility

Same here. I've got some 1-3/8" bolts (round hex socket head) too in order to have uber-sanitary setups.

I'll just straight up pull out the bolt cutters if I think my hardware is too long. I usually go for 1 1/4", though. Unless you need to start getting into some wedged risers, of course...
