As I've stated before, I try to limit the amount of Chinese-made goods that I stock. For some items, that's nearly impossible. Safety gear, for example, is made almost exclusively overseas. Sure, you can get Pro-Designed and Pain Cheaters pads that are made in the US, but the wholesale cost on those pads is more than the retail cost of TSG, 187, and Smith pads. People already bitch about the high cost of safety gear, so there's little incentive for me to carry PD or PC pads.
When it comes to trucks, it was much easier to "clean house." I stopped carrying Paris, GullWing, Revenge, and Original trucks because they're made overseas (and in some cases, because the quality was lacking). Yes, I sell Ace trucks and CORE plates, but only because there are no affordable US-made alternatives for the former, and the latter employ some very positive design features. Ace is also run by life-long skaters, not some bandwagon jumpers. I could make more money selling several popular Chinese-made trucks, but I feel like it's more important to support companies that keep production here in the US and/or offer true innovation.
My bearings are indeed made in China. I don't hide the fact whatsoever. Try to find a company outside of China who will work with a TINY specialty retailer such as myself. It's downright impossible. They won't even talk to you unless you're ordering 100,000 pieces (I typically order one-tenth that amount). If you want to complain that my Chinese-made bearings are less expensive, better sealed, and last longer than other popular Chinese-made bearings, be my guest.
I honestly don't understand why people care what I do or do not carry, or my reasons for doing so. I've been in business for almost seven years, and that has to say something about Mile High Skates. I'm never going to get rich slinging wood and urethane, so I run my business how I see fit.
If anyone has questions about why I do something, it's best to e-mail. I refuse to discuss these types of things in a public forum.

Re: CW buyers guide: things that made me go whaaat?!
What caught my eye is that the Bombhills is apparently going to be a drop-through.
You are not the light of my life.
Making you happy isn't my greatest dream.
Your smile is not all I live for;
I've got my own stuff going on.
But you're strange and fascinating
and I've never met anyone like you.
I want to give you everything.
Just to see what you would do with it.

can I post about how I don't want to buy israeli-made goods? or do I have to buy adspace in order to promulgate my country of origin 'stocking' preference?

Tracker: Is it just me or does this guys head look HUGE? Also more s9 gloves and wheels. I guess you have to use someones gloves and wheels.

ahaha well i can help explain to you the s9 components coincidence. evran ozan, if it wasnt clear enough, rides for sector. the josh (the guy for the arbor ad) not only rides for arbor but also is closely associated with s9. as for jimmy, he is also closely associated. we down here in San Diego are all good friends with the guys at s9 and they do more for dh here than any other company. over to jimmy's enormous head, its the helmet. its that helmet every one was raving about a few months back. its the so called "halo helmet" minus the visor
edit: also, if you look even more close, both the arbor and tracker shots are from the same local road
