    Default The Ultimate Lowrider

What's the lowest board you got?
What's the lowest truck+wheel+deck combination you've ever ridden?

I've ridden on a caften Randal DHs and flipped RII and 60mm wheel.
Although, it seems that there are lower boards out there like Landy's
Urban Assault, the Evo and the DH Race IV and Kebbek Flushcut.
Another thing is that Randal trucks in particular are quite high off the
ground and that Indy or Tracker can make the board lower. Ofcourse,
Original trucks would be the all time lowest truck, but often with Landys,
the dropped platform is lower than the axle itself and can end with a
deck that scrapes the ground. In this case bigger wheels would be a must.

Personnally, I'm looking to build a lowriding cruiser, where ground
clearance is the main idea and then a functional ride secondly. I'm not looking
for something that is stable at some 60+km/h or something that carves
through street corners like a snowboard.

    How low can you ride?
What's the lowest set of trucks that rides on the lowest deck?

hey Tyler, you got pics of that?
I would be curious to see it
How was cutting through all that CF? Did you have to make cutouts for wheel clearance? Is the board still stiff as a mofo?

It depends on what trucks you use on them. Because the trucks are mounted at angles on all but the front of the DH, a trucks axle position has an impact on how high the board is. If the axles are closer to the outside of the truck, it will make the UA lower, the back of the Evo higher and so on.

My Drop-thru Evo arrived yesterday and we set it up with Randal Downhills and 97mm Flys, this gave us wheelbite on the sides of the neck, so we changed to R11 180's and the flys and it scraped it's guts on the ground, so we changed the bushings for Khiro's and beefed it up a bit and it now turns and clears the ground, it is about 1" off the ground, so the footbed is about 13/4" off the ground.

    Cheers

no i think he means 1 3/4" as in one and three quarters of an inch, and then when he turns it goes down to 1"

Sorry, the bottom of the board is about an inch off the ground when at rest and the deck is about 3/4 of an inch thick so the footbed (where your foot sits) is 13/4" off the ground.

    Cheers

When are you guys going to use the less confusing metric system? Millimetres rock. We British gave you the imperial measuring system that is a mish mash handed down from the Egyptians and we ditched that old crap in the 1970s.

"To the rest of the world, however, it would seem that the figures of 1,760 yards to the mile and 51/2 yards to the rod were plucked out of thin air. For who, in their right mind, would create a system of units that used fractions?"
